Grinding noise

Ok Alcazar started this grindin noise w/ his beak. It's like when a person grinds their teeth. Is this coomon for a grey to do? Not sure if its their way of sharpening their beaks.

If he is doing this at night or before he goes to sleep or take a nap it is just something they do, it is a sign of contentment and they all do it. It might have something to do with keeping the beak, especially the lower one in good condition.

Herbie does it when he is having a cuddle and feeling sleepy, I have read it is a sign of contentment and he certainly looks like he is.
