Ok Alcazar started this grindin noise w/ his beak. It's like when a person grinds their teeth. Is this coomon for a grey to do? Not sure if its their way of sharpening their beaks.

If he is doing this at night or before he goes to sleep or take a nap it is just something they do, it is a sign of contentment and they all do it. It might have something to do with keeping the beak, especially the lower one in good condition.

Judy has it spot on ;)

Beak grinding is often a sign of contentment in birds and is heard most often as the bird falls asleep. It is characterized by the side-to-side sliding of one beak over the other. It is believed by some experts that birds grind their beaks to keep them in their best condition.
