These can be divided into two main groups – the white cockatoos and the black cockatoos. indigenous to Australia. The most obvious external feature of a cockatoo is the erectile crest that raises immediately when alarmed or excited. They can live up to 100 years old and make wonderful companions although they do need a significant amount of attention from their owner. They are very cuddly and have great personalities.
