Talon
I am honored to have my name on that list, to be a member of this greyt forum, and to have such wonderful treasured friends who care so much about others and their flocks. I am also honored to have Nilah in my family of birds.
Zoom
I find it amazing how different all my three birds are, and how completely I love each of them. My Amazon, Kazoo, is the oldest, and the only girl, and the only re-homed bird. I always ensure that she gets served her food first, and she's the first one I greet in the morning, and the first one whose cage is opened. I can't say exactly why I do that, but intuitively I know that it's important that she gets this special respect.

Next is Rikki, she came to us second, then Nilah she came third. I do it in that order and always have as I feel they deserve to always be the first as they are used to in Their life with us. MarcusCAG
What a neat thread! All of these lovely Amazons... when I read through the list, I realized you could add chezron and her Pancho to it, her family has had him for a few months now and he is part of their flock along with Brutus the Grey and Jimpster the Quaker. katana600
I sae an amazon up close and personal only once. It was after we lost our first two greys to illness and before I got Gilbert. I stood and watched a young female playing animately and just having fun. She was beautiful and I really wanted to take her home but we hadn't gotten enough information about PDD and I was too scared that we might have a contaminated home so I sadly resigned myself not to take a chance at that time. My heart is with the African grey but I still watch all of you with this beautiful species that has so much to offer. I appreciate the Amazon room where I can come see what delight they bring to your families.
Ray P
MarcusCAG thank you for the addition of Pancho to the list. The list was made off the top of my head so anyone that has a zon or if anyone knows of a zon I missed please let me know so I can add them to the honored list of zons that share a home with a grey Katana600 I also love my grey Corky very much and Cricket my zon is a rehome and I almost did not taker her because of her past. I would have missed out on so much. Greys and Amazons ROCK. And so do all parrots that live with us
JeffNOK
I have a soft spot for amazons too. I'm getting my first parrot--a grey in 2 months, but maybe someday I will have a zon in my flock as well. In the mean time I'm glad there is a place for amazons on the grey forum. I can enjoy them vicarioulsy.

CAGRico
Hi everyone, I am a new zon owner. I had been visiting one every day at a very good shop here in Phoenix. Lucia is a yellow Naped amazon. She:cool: had a sister in the shop with her and seemed very happy so I wasn't in a rush to pick her up. I took my wife and CAG in to finally meet Lucia and to my suprise, she was alone. Her sister went home 20 minutes ago. Well we visited for an hour and a half then brought her home that night. We couldn't leave her there alone. At home now, taking one day at a time, it is going to be a slow patient process to get Rico (CAG) and Lucia to hopefully form a bond. It seems that everyday, we get closer and closer. Rico has no problem eating his bowl clean and make his way to Lucia's cage and clean her out while Lucia is purchased high on top of her cage unsuspecting what is going on just below her. She is our adventurous child. Tests all new fruits and veggies. All other birds follow her lead when it comes to new food and toys. Nancy

Mama CJ
Hi, we have 2 YN amazons, Bean and Kiwi, both males. We also have 2 DYH amazons, Bongo and Rio. It's a good think we live out in the country, there's been a lot of honking going on here! I need that bumper sticker that says, "You'll have to honk louder than that, I have an Amazon"........... kins2321@yahoo.com
I am learning lately how to post on this site. I can't wait, when my adopted son comes home from college, and will help me post pictures of Sophie and Kiki. Unfortunately,my kids, refuse to be interested in posting our family dynamics. Not sure how to post pictures of the gang, without their support. Nancy
