Jo P Posted September 28, 2011 Posted September 28, 2011 I've looked over the lists of foods that are okay to feed my grey, but haven't seen anything on pecans. Does anyone know if they are a safe to feed? If so, do they need to be shelled or can I let Simba try to get the treat out? Thanks!
Dave007 Posted September 28, 2011 Posted September 28, 2011 They're fine. You can leave them in the shell or take them out. After a few times of trying, your bird will tell you how he prefers them.
bmatrow Posted September 28, 2011 Posted September 28, 2011 My birds love them. Although I think they love peanuts in the shell the most.
judygram Posted September 29, 2011 Posted September 29, 2011 Yummy, my birds like pecans too but I haven't given them the ones in the shell, I usually give them shelled but I guess I could make them work a little harder to get it out of the shell.
abbie21187 Posted September 30, 2011 Posted September 30, 2011 I think I have the only Grey in the world who doesn't much care for nuts. I've tried every type, it makes giving treat rewards difficult. So I use nutri-berry popcorn treats for now.

I could give you about 8 lbs of them. Edited September 30, 2011 by Dave007
