monipinkrose
Hi! I have a very sweet and quiet 1 year old african grey and I was thinking about getting a rose breasted cockatoo. I'm not sure yet. I was wondering if anyone knew any other kind of cockatoos that are sweet and quiet and are compatible with my african grey. Any advice is welcomed! Bear
Hi well if you look at my avatar you can see my CAG and U2 get on brilliantly! Best friends, sleep side by side. They aren't caged and have their own room, and they play together, eat together, groom eachother. They love eachother! I got my CAG first and the Too a few months later (the CAG we rescued and he was useless on his feet for a good while) But as long as you get a young Too and your bird is well socialised, I dont think you will have a problem. I just got another CAG 2 days ago and I know they will get on fine

JDS5607
Bear that's adorable!!!!!!!! Sully doesn't like other birds My hubby really wants cockatoo as well, but the noise just isn't something we can have living in an apartment Hopefully when we move next year, we'll be able to get one. Rosebreasted's are beautiful! We're looking at U2's and Goffins
Bear
Bean, my Umbrella, is SO quiet. she has never screamed or shrieked. She chats with us and she talks, but no shouting at all. No one even knows we have birds when they visit. She doesnt make a sound in her bedroom. We don't have her caged, she shares her bedroom with our Grey. She loves to sleep in 'her' wardrobe n her blanket. They really are wonderful birds, so friendly with other people and animals. I really want a Moluccan Cockatoo next. They are very similar to U2's in terms of personality and care. I've found a couple of breeders but they are very expensive, so will wait a while. Codys Mom
I have heard that Rose breasted Too's are more quiet then the other Too's not sure just what I have heard from some owners and breeders , I would love to have a goffins but I know they are loud lol so that would not work to good in a apartment , a few months ago at the bird store they had a beautiful Goffins their and loud was not the word for her I was in the store an hour and she gave me a nice headache by the time I left
judygram
I once thought I wanted a rose breasted cockatoo but I talked myself out of it, they may be the quieter of the toos but I imagine they can still be quite ear piercing, besides I don't want to spread myself too thin and not have enough time to devote to all my fids as that wouldn't be fair to any of them. Bear I think it is wonderful how your birds get along so great but it is unusual as many of us have found out.
