Zoom
My baby grey, Simon, is coming home in a few weeks. I had lined up a second-hand cage and all kinds of accessories from a woman on Kijiji whose grey had sadly died. She was going to deliver it a couple of weeks ago but she was having health issues and then I stopped hearing from her. I haven't given up, but I need a plan B in case she doesn't resurface before Simon arrives. So I've been looking at new cages. I can't find a pet store in Ottawa (Canada's capital) that sells a cage big enough for a grey. I can find all kinds of great cages online, but they only offer free shipping in the US - to Canada, they charge about $400-$500 for shipping alone. Not only that, but I'd probably end up having to pay a fortune in customs and brokerage charges as well. If anybody has any ideas, I'd love to hear them. Where do other Canadians buy their cages? Thanks.
judygram
I am not from Canada but I just wanted to comment on the cat as I just saw it in your signature line, that is one big pussycat, looks like he doesn't venture too far from the food bowl huh, fat cat. Zoom
Yes, Duncan is a great big Norwegian Forest Cat. That picture was taken shortly after I adopted him from the Humane Society three years ago. He's lost about five pounds since then. It makes all the difference in the world because now he can play with toys and chase things and have fun. Before, everything was too much effort. Luvparrots
I'm not from Canada either, so I can't help you. But I love your Big Kitty!!!! Duncan is very unusual!!!! I just entered Canadian Bird Stores on my computer web search and came up with names of Canadian stores. Have you tried looking on the net? I hope you will stop by the Amazon Room and tell us about Kazoo also. Welcome to the Grey family!
Zoom
Duncan's quite the character. Very affectionate and friendly, loves everybody. He's pretty good about the birds. I used to have a clutch of baby lovebirds that I was hand-feeding, and they absolutely adored Duncan. He'd jump up and lie down beside their cage and peer in at them, and they'd all toddle over to visit him and peck at his whiskers. It was very, very cute, but I still don't trust him. Sometimes I see a flash of instinct get the better of him, and he'll reach for a fluttery bird.

Butttaxi
I am in Nova Scotia but the cage I have came with Rorschach. I am not sure where the previous owner had purchased the cage but there is a Pet Unlimited near by. I will eventually want to upgrade the cage we have, the one is large enough but he broke the latches on the food dish doors (we had to jimmy them shut so he wouldn't climb out at night) the cages are pretty expensive at the store ranging from $1000 and up which I can't afford at the moment. PS Love the cat lol I want to snuggle him so much! I have a soft spot for fat orange cats. I have 2 cats and Kitkat had actually got pretty fat after I had her fixed, she has since lost all the weight but stull has a hanging belly pouch. birdhouse
Don't know anything at all about them, but I saw some cages offered by Elite Cages on Ebay (the one that was egg shaped made me stop & look LOL). I think they're Canadian based from what I read, so I thought I'd pass it along. http://cgi.ebay.com/Bird-Cage-Parrot-Macaw-Pionu-Large-Play-top-A28-CO-/280644818968?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_2&var=&hash=item870c474cbc Edited March 20, 2011 by birdhouse
Acappella
I can 3rd Parrotdise Perch. Their service has always been great. I've only had small things shipped from them, but you can depend on their quality and that everything is totally safe. http://www.parrotdiseperch.com/parrot/index.php I also found this store. I've not dealt with them, but they're in Ontario.http://www.jalpets.com/products/parrot.html Here's a link to a store on Ebay that's Canadian. Again, I've not dealt here. http://stores.ebay.ca/linespro?_trksid=p4340.l2563 Here's a store in the states that looks like it has a reasonable shipping policy. I've including it because they sell Avian Adventures cages, and I love my Avian Adventures cage.ttp://www.allpetfurniture.com/Avian-Adventures-by-Midwest-C179768.html Finally, here's a good Canadian source for toys. http://www.birdyboredombusters.com/
