hammco
:confused:At school my kids made Xmas bird feeders made of pinecones coated with peanut butter , rolled in bird seed. Well, they want Timmy to have one in his cage soooo bad since they "made it for him"...do yall think this will be OK for a different treat for Timmy? I think it will be fine cause timmy till prob just destroy and really only nibble a little bit....WHAT DO YALL THINK?
Barbara2
My biggest concern is that they wouldn't have cleaned the pine cones. I would be worried about pesticides or other possible contaminents since the pine cones most likely were not sanitized before the class project. What might be better is to recreate the project with them at home and completely sanitize the pine cone before putting on the peanut butter and seeds. judygram
I have to agree with Barbara on this one, put the ones from the school outside for the wild birds and make some of your own with cleaned ones and that way you will know they are safe for Timmy. Birdnut
I agree with Barbara and Judy. That would also give your kids the opportunity to customize the pine cone for Timmy with some of his favorite treats poked into the pine cone.
