hammco
Timmys leg band reads: WK NC (sideways) 7 Is there any way to find out who the breeder was? I would figure this maybe: WK- breeder NC- North Carolina 7- born in 2007 OR 7th chick from the mom
Kaleah
Found this site. Lots of good info on leg bands. I don't really know much about them myself, so I thought the website could help a lot more http://www.quakerparrots.com/general/parrots/all-about-bird-bands/
Barbara2
I tried to look it up at a leg band registry but I didn't get any results with that information. I did find this article on reading leg bands: http://www.ehow.com/how_5848512_bird-breeder-tag-number.html
JDS5607
When I bred lovebirds, I had bands on the babies. I made up my own code, which was JBSA (the initials of my aviary) sideways, 10-(# chick of the year) and ordered the bands online. I never registered my bands with anyone, except when I told other breeders of it, and called the vets in the area, so that if one of my babies every came to me, I could help them find the owner. It actually worked too! I had a lady call me saying she had got my info from the vet, on a lovebird she had adopted from someone I had sold the baby to! Quite interesting
