I threw this together last night with stuff in the shed and the top perch is a crepe myrtle I cut from the yard. It is in the kitchen and Timmy sits there when we eat. the base is a 18" dia piece of fermica countertop I had laying around, and the perch is attached via a 3" stainless steel screw, and the post is notched out. everything is wood glued too. today i added a snack bowl for his supper! heres a pic.....

Keep trying, you'll get this photo thing in proper order for us. I remember when I was trying, I had to wait a long time for the upload and click one more thing for it to post. Time and patience, just like with our birds, you'll get it though. Thanks for hanging in there.

Thanks Barb2! I own a handyman business and always have left over materials, some even exotic wood that I usually cant afford, so I have always made stuff for around the house and for my kids. I have some bird feeders and houses in the yard with $200 in materials that cost me $0!!!! I just love to create stuff and Ill be posting more pics soon of ideas for parrot stuff I have in mind. I am welding and powdercoading a couple bird perches and playsets and experimenting with concrete perches here and there.....Everyone on this site might own a "Hammco Acccessory" soon hahaha just kidding, but Im saving money on this stuff and having fun at the same time!

lol apparently barb has special vision as i have checked this post from 3 different pc's and none of them show a picture.

heres an idea. open a free photobucket acount and upload the pic there. once its there the image will have a "direct link" url underneath it for using in forums.

when posting use the "insert image" button on top of the reply box and paste that link in the pop up box that appears and all will be sorted.

good luck

Looks nice and you did a good job with it, you should be able to crank these out with no problem, maybe you could make them on the side for some extra money, glad to hear that it is a hit with Timmy.

The base is actually an old piece of laminate countertop (fermica). Easy to clean and easy to get at a yard sale or home improvement clearance rack for a buck or two!
