DarinKing Posted August 16, 2007 Posted August 16, 2007 I took my CAG to the VET just after 5 months old. We found out today it is a girl. So we are changing the name from Pedro to Pedra
judygram Posted August 16, 2007 Posted August 16, 2007 Well congrats on having a girl instead of a boy, but she is still the same bird, and I like that name too.
danmcq Posted August 16, 2007 Posted August 16, 2007 Well, congratulations on a Baby girl! Now you need to do everything in Pink ;-) Post updates , we love to hear them and photos we love photos!!
Talon Posted August 16, 2007 Posted August 16, 2007 Yup! Dan is right, pink it is!!  We went through the same thing with Talon after 1 1/2 years of calling her a HE!
nevjoe Posted August 16, 2007 Posted August 16, 2007 Your lucky finding out now and not later. If you tried to mate with another female it would be gay. LOL Joe
Critterstuff Posted August 16, 2007 Posted August 16, 2007 My CAG, Rocky, turned out by dna testing at over one year old to be a girl, after calling 'her' a 'he'and 'she' a 'him'...:>) for almost a year! Now Rocky is Rocki, and now that I know she is a girl, I see sweetness I never saw before. I'm glad she is a she. Critterstuff
lovemyGreys Posted August 16, 2007 Posted August 16, 2007 DarinKing congrats on your little girl,Pedra is a lovely name I have Coco who is 14 months old, a re home & the previous owner thought she was a boy, she was use to things like whos a good boy etc.. but now says good girl
Toni Posted August 16, 2007 Posted August 16, 2007 Thats why I got my birds DNA going now. So I know what to name it.
danmcq Posted August 16, 2007 Posted August 16, 2007 Your right Toni, if you want to know the sex, DNA is the most accurate way :-) Many breeders, if you purchase from them, will have it done for you for a small fee $20. If you request it.
Guest Posted August 17, 2007 Posted August 17, 2007 I like Pedra. It's an unusual name. I like unusual names  Anyway, now you don't have to worry if your bird doesn't behave macho
