chimaysmommy Posted November 3, 2009 Posted November 3, 2009 Chimay was standing on our shower door getting a nice steam while I showered, chattering as he always does, when out of no where came "can you whistle?" I paused, thinking that maybe I was hearing things and continued on with my shower. A minute or two passed and out it came again! "Can you whistle?" I was so excited! Naturally I whistled for him, as he does for me when I make the same request to him. I'm so excited! He's been trying for at least the two months to talk, but all of it has been unintelligible mumbling until now. I can't wait to hear what he has to say next!!!
JillyBeanz Posted November 3, 2009 Posted November 3, 2009 OMG Cindy - I can't believe it was a sentence too!! What a good little boy Chimay is! I am so, so jealous!!! As they say - let the flood gates open!!!!
judygram Posted November 3, 2009 Posted November 3, 2009 Congrats Cindy on Chimay saying his first words, he has been practicing all this time to get it just right so now be prepared to hear all sorts of things, better watch what you say from now on. B)
danmcq Posted November 3, 2009 Posted November 3, 2009 Congratulations on Chimay's first words and sentence!! :-) Now, you know he was questioning the fact of whether you can truly whistle, since he had to learn the human language to correct you.
raleej337 Posted November 3, 2009 Posted November 3, 2009 congratulations on Chimay's first "sentence"! My 4 month old CAG is still mumbling but it sounds like he's trying to say "what do you want?" the question we're always asking him.
Luvparrots Posted November 3, 2009 Posted November 3, 2009 Congratulations Chimay!!!! What a smart little lady you are. Cindy, I can remember how excited and how proud I was when Ana Grey said her first words. Enjoy!!!
chimaysmommy Posted November 3, 2009 Author Posted November 3, 2009 Thanks guys!! I am so thrilled about it, I just hope he shows off his first words plenty when my boyfriend gets home from work! Now, you know he was questioning the fact of whether you can truly whistle, since he had to learn the human language to correct you. But of course....Already the student has become the teacher!

chimaysmommy Posted November 3, 2009 Author Posted November 3, 2009 I was a little bit disappointed last night because he didn't show off his new words to "Daddy" when he got home, but he showed off quite a bit this morning! My boyf Chuck is such a proud papa
Luvparrots Posted November 4, 2009 Posted November 4, 2009 Just like a little kid, they never "perform" when we want them to do so. Glad Chimay found his voice this morning!!  :woohoo:
Jingles Posted November 4, 2009 Posted November 4, 2009 Awesome! Love that his first words were a sentence!!!!
ecodweeb Posted November 4, 2009 Posted November 4, 2009 Use your cell phone to get him on video; or use your webcam if you have one. That way you can shot Chuck and post it on YouTube for the rest of us!
chimaysmommy Posted November 4, 2009 Author Posted November 4, 2009 I'm definitely planning to do that once I can time it correctly...He hasn't gotten to a point where he's repeating it regularly so it's hard to capture the magic. I will be posting it for sure!

My boyf Chuck is such a proud papa Lol, as soon as Alf came out with her first words I set the video up and captured about an hour and a half of whistles and pops before she repeated herself and gave me the 7 seconds worth that eventually went on youtube!! Congrats again - looking forward to the vid once you get it!! x
