1sydneybird Posted September 28, 2009 Posted September 28, 2009 OK, Sydneys (TAG) new thing is to fly over to Roxys (Quaker) cage, and play with all of his toys that are on the cage. They also beak at one another, and Syd bows his head to see if Rox can preen it. Do you think Roxy is threatened with this? They are both fully flighted. Thanks!!
danmcq Posted September 28, 2009 Posted September 28, 2009 Yes, that is perfectly fine. Since this is a new "thing" as far as visiting the others cage and closeness. Just watch them carefully when they interact. Due to both being flighted, either can make for a quick get away if it gets to dramatic. :-)

judygram Posted September 28, 2009 Posted September 28, 2009 It is normal for them to beak one another as long as it doesn't go any further than that and be sure to supervise them when they are both out together. We would love to see some pictures of this interaction if it is so darn cute.:whistle: :cheer:

judygram Posted September 28, 2009 Posted September 28, 2009 Well you never know Raleej, just introduce them slowly when you bring your grey home and see how they react to one another, you will soon know if you are going to have problems and deal with it then.

Ive had Syd for 8 months, and although I had introduced them before, I was too worried to let them touch. Sydney started calling Roxy from his cage saying "Roxy, Roxy" and last night I let them preen one another, it was SO cute. Then, this morning, when Syd was out, he flew right over to Roxys cage and they started beaking, (although it looked like licking each other, my hubby was disgusted) I still wont trust them, but its kinda cool!
