raleej337
Will this work as a temporary cage for my baby grey? Size is 30"L x 17"D x 33"H (cage only), bar spacing is 1/2", my actual problem is the wires. This will be the greys cage for maybe 2 - 3 months until I have enough budget to buy a new cage. The bird is newly weaned.
judygram
That cage is not very deep, 17" is not enough room for your grey to open up the wings and flap, your cage should be at least 24" deep or more. Now if your bird will only be staying in it at night to sleep it may be ok temporarily but a larger cage is necessary so you should plan on getting a bigger one. Luvparrots
Raleej is this a cage that you already own? And how old is your baby grey? I got mine at 4 months old and she is still about the same size at one year. She has just filled out some. Frankly, I'm not really love'n the thin wire either. That's why I ask the question. raleej337
this is an old cage that I have, I dont have the grey yet, we might pick it up sometime his weekend or early next week. Definitley he'll be out most of the time. I supposed to buy a new cage but some more important expenses came up and have to deal with it first. I know the minimum is somewhere like 36 x 36 x 40 and with a thicker wire. We've already made a deposit on the bird so we can't pull out.
lovethatgrey
Can't say I'm crazy about the cage in that picture. The Depth seems very small.
SchroedersJen
You could probably get an inexpensive upgrade on craigslist since you have time to look.....Your grey is going to be able to open that cage door and I am concerned about a guillotine effect on the bottom. pga7602
RALEE, You won't regret getting that cage. As you know, I am bias toward that cage. Coral loves it and I'm sure both of you will too. If you have any questions about assembling it, just ask. Did I tell you there is no manual included? LOL It's not so bad though. Just and FYI, item E that is being called in the old diagram that is included with your cage is not needed. I thought they forgot it, but I double checked and they told me that item E is no longer needed.
