Guest Lidia Posted July 5, 2007 Posted July 5, 2007 Can anyone identify the water bird in the photograph? I know it's a sort of duck or goose or ducky-goose. But I can't see anything like it in the bird book I have or on the internet.
judygram Posted July 5, 2007 Posted July 5, 2007 I haven't a clue and my hubby does not know either and he is a big hunter of ducks, geese and turkeys. Maybe someone else knows. But it is definately a duck.
Guest Posted July 5, 2007 Posted July 5, 2007 It reminds a bit of a blue swedish duck, but isn't it. Very interesting maybe an inbreed ?
judygram Posted July 6, 2007 Posted July 6, 2007 Looks like we might have struck out on this one, no one knows.
TinyTimneh Posted December 14, 2008 Posted December 14, 2008 hmmm... some sort of color variant of a call duck maybe???
Luvparrots Posted December 14, 2008 Posted December 14, 2008 Looks kind of like the Northern Shoveler, which is sort of a look-alike of the Mallard Duck from the California/Northern US.
Toni Posted August 22, 2009 Posted August 22, 2009 LEMON-ROASTED DUCK 4 mallards Salt Pepper 1 stick butter Juice and rind of 2 lemons Wash the ducks both inside and out, dry completely. Salt and pepper. Melt butter in roasting pan; brown ducks on all sides of top of stove. Pour lemon juice in cavities of ducks and put rind around sides. Cook, covered, at 300 degrees until tender. Remove meat from bones and pour gravy in pan over meat. Serves 6 :pinch:
Toni Posted August 22, 2009 Posted August 22, 2009 Opps only have two here.Gotta cut the recipe in half..
LuvThoseGreys Posted August 23, 2009 Posted August 23, 2009 What ever kind of ducks they are, they're both males. Maybe a cross between a mallard and swedish duck?
kittykittykitty Posted August 24, 2009 Posted August 24, 2009 They look like a cross breed to me.
