Steam cleaning cage?

Hi is it ok to steam clean a cage? and if so what cleaner is best to buy? i`m in the uk so i hope they sell them here

Yes, you can steam clean a cage. I personally would use a bird safe cleaning product. I am sure others here will chime in with better advice. B)

I steam clean Tycos and Fergies cages all the time I just use water in the steamer it works great to loosen the poop and the steam sanitizes just give in a good blast of steam for a couple of seconds and wipe in off its really quick and easy.

A steam cleaner is what I need and like Pat said you don't need any kind of cleaner solution in it, the steam itself cleans it off, you just wipe with a clean cloth or paper towel and all done.

I have been considering a steam cleaner as well. I think I have seen them at Argos but a friend of mine got one from the Better Baker salesperson (?) and swears by it for ease in cleaning. I do not have as much of a poo problem as stuck on food.

I was thinking about a steamer as well, but wasn't sure it would do the job.

 

Poo comes off easily when sprayed with my solution of water and vinegar, but the food bits are the worst. Especially the banana's...lol.

I've never thought about the steam cleaner - put it this way - it's great for teenager's dirt in the shower cubicle - so parrot poop will be easy!

I have used one of the small hand held steam cleaners on the cages and found it very quick and easy.A big advantage is that no cleaners are needed.
