He is doing good this morning, I dont know if he is eating in his cage so I am a little worried but he will eat everything you hand him. He sounds like a brewing coffee pot when hes excited :-)

Thank you guys! I am just so happy that he is finally home, he started getting kind of chatty when Yoshi my sisters SI eclectus was talking :-) Now I just have to be patient and wait until tomorrow to play with him again lol

Thane is finally home!! Actually i am surprised he was ready lol he was on three feeding per day until he apparently decided he was done with formula. He has been gaining weight and doing great, he is adjusting so fast. He started eating right away and still likes to be pet and cuddled. More pics soon :-)

Thank you guys, I will just keep visiting him until he is ready!

I just wanted to update everyone on Thane, I haven't lost my picture enthusiasm just my cell reception! I have so many pics of Thane on my phone but I just moved and my new house does not get enough bars to post pics. He is doing great, still at the pet store (a little bummed that he's still weaning). But I know its a process and each bird has their own time. The lady at the pet store says that he is bigger then his brother and sister. His sister just went home last time I visited. I am still bringing him veggies when I visit, I am hoping that he will start eating more solids! He is still a sweet heart :-). He is also apparently a noise maker lol they tell me that he is always whistling and beeping. I can't wait to get m little guy home!

They have not given me a date he is still on three feedings per day hopefully two soon! I really can't waiting get to visit him about three times a week and I just want him home! I just moved so I am glad he wasn't home for that but now everything is unpacked and he has a spot for his cage just waiting for him lol

Hey JeffNOK thanks for your reply! Unfortunately the pet store I am purchasing Thane from does not allow their baby birds to fledge, claiming that it is unsafe for them and other birds they could fly into. When I found this out I tried to convince them to not clip Thanes wings but they said the best they could do is wait as long as they thought it was safe. I was able to get them to wait until last Friday, but he was only able to fly two or three times. The only other option they gave me was to take Thane home before they clipped them and finish hand feeding him. I was tempted but after reading the dangers of hand feeding I just wasn't comfortable with this. I did try to convince them to give him a light clip and I know he can glide pretty smoothly to the ground vs a harsh fall.

Little Thane is doing great! I havent posted in a while but only because i dropped and broke my phone. He is still completely sweet and a cuddle bird! He is flapping his wings a lot now, they are clipped now, i wanted to wait longer but due to the store setting they clip them younger so no one gets hurt. He has tried a lot of veggies and the only one he doesnt seem to like is carrots. He is starting to bite (which i know is just an age thing) does anyone know how to correct this?? I try redirecting him with food and toys but when he bites he really chomps!! This usually happens after he flaps his wings and gets excited.

Back again, I brought Thane some corn on the cob and mini cucumbers, I figured they wouldnt hurt as much if he sprayed me with them lol. The second and third pic are of my sister holding Thane after he spilled his formula all down his side :-) I have an absolutely adorable video of him rolling around and eating his corn but I cant upload it yet! Thank you guys for all of your responses, I cannot wait to bring Thane home he is such a fun little guy!

I finally found out the gender and I have a little boy named Thane! I went to visit him sunday and he is so sweet and cuddly: -) he had red yellow and orange peppers along with another banana, he was most definitely a fan of all of them!

Thank you you :-). I am trying to think of what to bring him/her next, are they to young for peppers???? My sisters eclectus LOVES peppers lol. He/she was making little warbbeling sounds that were so cute!

Another visit today :-) He/she had her first Banana today, needless to say he loved it!! Is it ok for them to eat the peels?? I was worried about it but the staff said it wouldn't hurt him/her. You can see his/her brothers and sisters in the background completely jealous of his banana lol of course they got some before I left :-)

Thank you guys for your replies :-). He/she is very sweet and trusting! he/she is also very curious, climbing all over the cage and nibbling on his/her toys. I am going to try and go back for a visit tomorrow :-)

My little guy/girl finally looks like a mini grey :-) he/she isn't in her cage full time but she gets to hang out in there during the day. I am sending in for the DNA tomorrow so I should now the gender by next week!

I wish my photos would upload but for some reason I get an error I really cant wait for either!

When i visited today I asked about when I could DNA test and I am going back tuesday for the test :-) of course then I have to send it in and wait a week lol BUT thats ok I can wait! The name choice has changed to Thane for a boy but is still Rue for girl. So naturally i can't upload photos at the moment but as soon as I can I will :-) he/she is so big now! Much taller then the other 2.

Thanks guys :-). I really can't wait for him/her to come home!!! Its only about a 45 min drive to visit now but still it will be nice when he/she is home!

Just another visit my baby bird, I cant wait to find out the gender so I can use his or her name lol. He seems to be doing good he's exploring a lot more and chewing on everything :-). I picked out his cage so when he is ready he can move into it. Now i can focus on toys lol, he's not supposed to move into his cage for another 7-10 days.

Thank you! My little grey has red feathers on his/her legs now so its easy to tell mine from the others :-)

I went and visited with my little bird and he has more feathers and less fluff :-) she was playful at first but mainly just hungry lol but by the end she was cuddly with her head feathers all fluffed.

I do not have an exact date for when he/she will be coming home just when she is done weaning. They said his/her age is between 8 and 10 weeks but with the pics I have been looking at I am thinking closer to 8(??). This pet store gives you an option to wean from home if you want but as much as I would love to bring her/him home I have no experiance with this so I am going to wait until she/he is weaned. I am going to be bringing in her/his cage in about two weeks and she/he will stay there until its time to come home. Last time I visited he/she was tossing around dry food and chewing on some mushey pellets, I will be visiting again on Wednesday. :-)

Hi all :-) I am the soon to be new owner of an adorable little grey. I don't know the gender yet he/she is still mostly a little fuzz ball. As far as names go I am thinking Ringo for a boy and Rue for a girl. He/she is a petstore parrot which I know is not ideal but its very hard not to fall in love with this sweet little fuzz ball. I have owned parakeets and cockateils in the past but this will be my first big bird. My sister who I live with owns a very adorable SI eclectus named Yoshi :-).
