In case you need some motivation to get ready for the upcoming holidays. Huey loves himself a nice baking pumpkin! 380944991_6993025787397905_8675763375061282895_n.mp4

Wow, just reading this. I just watched a video of Griffi a few days ago. Had no idea. 😥

I haven't been on in a few months! Starting in June our renter decided to move out from a 1.5 year residency and what a disaster! Broke windows, burned holes in the wood floors, let a kid draw on every wall in the house except three of the bedrooms. That kid also broke every blind it could reach. They tore stuff up outside including trashing our window screens, pulling the ground cord off the house. This idiot had the gall to want his deposit back too! I told him to take it to court and let's see if I don't get awarded a few thousand more to cover the cost above the deposit. Haven't heard from the idiot since. So that was June, we spent a ton of time at that house in Allen which is over an hour. We really scrambled trying to get it ready for the new tenants that wanted in by Jun 27. We got them in and I was still working on that weekend of July 1st fixing more stuff. Then the weekend of July 8/9, wife said we need to go have some fun. That means driving her around to little towns where she can see the city squares and poke around in the stores. Do a little disc golf too if we find a course nearby. And then, a day that will live in infamy, at least for me and my colleagues: July 10, 2023. I work for the largest PBM (pharmacy benefits manager, you can probably look it up and get a good guess what company that is) and we handle TONS of pharmacy claims, benefits queries, drug lookups, basically anything that gets run from your doctor or pharmacist, or health plan vendor and if your health plan is managed by our PBM, it will come into the systems that my team manages. Our production systems run on HP Nonstop systems. HP Nonstops are some of the most highly redundant system in the world. They are designed to run for years and years without stopping, crashing etc. IF, and that's a big IF, they are set up correctly. Everything is redundant on HP Nonstop systems, network cards, processors, application processes all have backup processes, these backup elements don't even have to be on the same machine running in the same local area. They can be across the world, in our case Arizona and Rhode Island. On July 10th, our main production system blinked. Half the dang IT company was pulled onto the bridge along with execs that never know what the hell is going on. We tried recovering this system to no avail and at 3pm CT, the decision was made to move production over to the mated system, in the same data center. I did not leave my chair for the next 40 hours straight. My wife was bringing me food and taking care of all the animals. At 40 hours I told the bridge I needed a small nap because I was getting delirious. So we paused for 30m and back at it for another 24 hours. It took us two weeks to get 100% recovered. We had doctors and pharmacists back online the evening of the first day but that was just the first of many battles. Ever since Jul10 it has been a shit show here. The execs of this company who never even knew what our systems do all of a sudden have a huge vested interest in anything and everything our team does. We made the Wall Street Journal, New York Times, trended on twatter and there is a huge discussion thread about the event on Reddit. We made the news but not in a good way! Anyhow, it's been just over two months since that event and I'm just now getting my personal life back. So we might be posting a little more. In the mean time, please enjoy a glamour shot of the Huey. Remember, Huey LOVES the ladies. Don't all swoon over him at once.

I'm only a month late (need to start checking back in more often). Glad to hear to hear you'll be rid of the witch. Sounds like you're moving to a similar situation like we did. Our neighbors are cows, farmers and about 100 head of sheep and their watch donkey. Glad to see your aviary is making the haul too. Can you believe I still have not rebuilt my aviary 😢

Who made the switch? Everyone should have made it since the old site is forwarding. If you're here and don't know what I'm talking about, reset your bookmarks to GREYFORUMS.ORG. The old .NET is going away soon. Post up here so we know who's here.

I will have a word with the Greycie. She's very busy ya know.

Here's to hoping he gets the full 20 years in prison.

Haa....reminds me of a flowers my wife got a while back. One yellow boquet (her favorite color roses) in one vase and a tiny vase in front with a single rose from Huey. Of course she loved his boquet more than mine 😆

It's crossed my mind to set something up between all of us here. Our own social birdy network.

So much of the traffic here has been stolen by Farcebook. I'm not sure why, other forums are doing well including avian avenue which I almost never go to, it's too full of whackjobs (similar to farcebook) for me. Farcebook can't really compete with sites that provide real valuable source of historical technical information like tractorbynet, dieselsite and weldingweb which I'm on and those are still going strong. This site is just hanging on by a thread and one of my other much-loved sites is already dead - 'thatquailplace'.

Murphchk is doing good. Her and her husband had to downsize their flock due to respiratory problems. They're down to 9 or something 🤣. I laugh because I can't handle more than the 7 I have. They moved out of the big shitty (like we did) and landed in Paradise, Texas. That's the real name of the little town!

Not sure if many are around..

I went back and found his baby pic. He's grown into a strapping young man

I can't believe my little baby grey is 10 years old today. We always joke that GreycieMae replaced my daughter, because I got Greycie when I was having a real hard time with empty-nest syndrome before my daughter was about to fledge. I've become so attached to my Grey that I can't imagine life without her. It used to drive my wife nuts the bond I have with my Grey but then Huey came into our lives and now he's head-over-talons for her and they have as strong a bond or more. Huey gets a little obsessive-compulsive over my wife 😁. Some pics of the birthday girl: Greycie the baby. Pics from the care sheet that was delivered with the bundle of feathers. She was originally named 'Mystery': The day she came home, look at those adorable grey baby eyes A copy of the flyer I wall-papered the town with when my idiot sister-in-law left three doors open in our house and let Greycie fly out. I think Greycie was only a year or two old at this point. One of the worst days of my life. I had the strangest dream the night after her first day missing. I dreamed very lucid that she was sitting on a pipe fence somewhere calling to me from the light at the end of a dark tunnel, very similar to what people who return from near-death describe. It disturbed me to no end and I don't know if I could have lived it down if we didn't finally locate her at the end of day 2. We finally found her in the dark sitting in a tree alongside a bicycle path that I regularly took her on. She heard our voices and started calling to us just like I had dreamt. It was at the end of a very long second-day of searching for her. I get goose-bumps just re-living the ordeal in my head writing about it. And some pics from this morning. Not sure she was ready for the smothering she got. She's like my wife, hard to roost out of bed. P.S. she sleeps on a ladder right next to my side of the bed. Every single night she coo's to me in the dark. She is the absolute sweetest thing ever. She regularly sits with me in my office as I work. She wouldn't have it any other way. Huey in the background on his 'office' perch. Greycie just getting up. Sometimes I swear you can see the bags under her eyes 😆 Before her got her makeup on and her hair did. 🤣

Huey started his career in the destructionings... err... constructionings business as a young apprentice. Over his long and storied 20+ year career of tearing stuffs up... errr...building elaborate structures, he has risen to owning and operating his very own Constructionings business. Current projects include building a nestbox for mommy to lay an egg in so he can sit on it. She never seems interested so the project continues indefinitely under her bathroom sink. Huey's latest projects include enclosing his exposed covered patio so he has something similar to the last home before he made a change of address. He also has his workerbee (me) working hard to get his outdoor aviary up - no easy task. It's been two long years since Huey has had an outdoor aviary but Huey is starting the project, and let's hope it's not a year from now when I finally post about it being finished. Hueys new patio using 1" industrial-grade store front glass - BEFORE: After: You can clearly see in this video that Huey must approve all building artifacts. Without Huey's vast knowledge of contructionings, there's no telling what would get built if anything at all. 20221002_160953.mp4

I attempted to do that same training with Greycie, chopstick and clicker too. The one that really stuck was the spin. She now spins whenever I have something she wants. And she'll keep doing it until she gets it. Training gone awry.

ahhh....Happy Hatchday!

I'm sure they are just amazed at how stupid and inept we can be. That combined with their complete lack of patience 🤣

Mine will get bits of chocolate on occasion. I don't really want to find out the hard way if excess chocolate is really bad for them so I don't risk it. I however don't believe all the bs spouted out there by the FB karens that look for anything to reprimand. E.g. My GreycieMae has been giving me wet sloppy birdy kisses for 9 years now without issue. Another no no no no blah blah blah.....
