Hello, Looking for ideas for a "mess catcher apparatus" kinda like what is under this cool play gym ... http://www.parrotplayworld.com/centurian.html Basically, I want to hook a "perch swing" in my bedroom for wally to hang out with me on and do not want the poop on me or my bed ... very small room, bed takes up 90% of it and I am in it most of the time. what would any of you do for something like that? thanks in advance

wow, what a smart bird and what a story!! There should be more people like you in the world. I probably shouldn't be posting because I sadly have no advice since I am new too, but I agree about reading in the forum here. I do a lot of lurking and learn a lot. Just started giving my Wally carrots due to a post I saw about nutrition and how greys like those. This forum and the people in it are awesome! hopefully I can get one of him talking in the near future LOL ... he seems shy, only talks when I'm out of the room. I've heard him say "how are you", "wally" and alot of mumbling that I wish I could understand thanks for watching his part 1 of what I hope to be a long series ... and a long happy, healthy relationship with him and the forum PS: danmcq ... thanks for commenting on youtube too! pps: that was the first time ever I let him out of his cage, how nerve-wracking LOL, but he liked it so much he didn't want to go back in, tricked him and put a treat in his bowl and made him go in for it. How mean, huh?

An acquaintance of mine sadly had to give up their grey due to a family members allergies after 20+ years of owning + loving him and I am now the proud owner. His name is Wally and I am going to try to do all I can to make him feel at home asap, the poor guy, I feel so bad for him with the drastic changes he is now going through. I also have 4 chihuahuas that are very intrigued with Wally and wondering who the new addition to the family is... kinda freaking him out. (they can not get near his cage though, they just bark cause they know he is there) My main concern is getting him as comfortable as possible as fast as possible. I just got him last night and this morning he took treats from my hand and happily sat there eating looking out his new window. (he did not have a window view prior, so hopefully this will be a plus in his new surroundings) I hope to have a long, happy & healthy relationship with Wally and you guys here at this forum. Looks like a nice crowd in here, thanks for creating this place. Glad to be here!
