Just measured the actual inside dimensions 31 length x22 width x35 height Too small? And thanks yeah I'll wipe it down

Hey all I just received the cage I ordered off ebay...here's the link http://www.ebay.com/itm/32-x30-x68-Parrot-Bird-Finch-Cages-Play-Top-Storey-Ladder-Black-Vein-Iron-Cage-/370597714664?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item5649585ae8 (mine was 40x30 but they're out of that one...bar spacing was the same) http://imageshack.us/f/20/226il.jpg/ I'm afraid that the bars are too small? Also, if I glide my fingers accross the bars some of them feed rough and a little paint/powder gets on my hands..or chips rather. Should I put this thing together or just resell and get something different.

So since I am completely new to owning a bird I want to make sure that I do everything I can to inform myself/be best owner I can. I found this site http://www.birdtricks.com and was considering signing up for a service or two for toys/training. Any positive/negative feedback?

what site were you going to order that from? I just ordered a TON of bird toys (I am so broke now haha) from a few different websites but assumed they were safe. woops

Just ordered...250$ and FREE shipping. For 40x31x70 cage...retail with shipping would have been around 600$ I love you guys ...more money to spend on toys

Thanks for the reassurance aerial. Unfortunately the bird store is about 40 minutes away from where I live (without traffic) so I can't visit as much as I'd like but oh well. One other thing that worried me was that the pet store owner said the bird only really will only "like" one person. He said he's raised many Grey's and some have liked him and let him handle and others, as soon as their matured really didn't let him handle them. He said bonding with a baby doesn't mean much because their personalities completely change once they mature and take a liking to one person regardless of if you raised them/hand fed them etc... I would just hate the spend all the time and effort into getting one only to find out he takes a primary liking to someone else even though I would be the caretaker.

Hi there, I have been doing research for quite awhile and finally decided to take a step forward and purchase an African Grey. I found a local bird store and after spending the afternoon there decided to purchase a baby Grey. It is currently around 5 weeks old and I will be waiting for another 8 weeks or so before I can take him home. The owner of the store currently hand feeds the babies and said that once they are old enough he will have them out in the open of the store so they can start to become socialized with events/people around them. My main concern is that...well I'm a pianist for a living and I treasure my fingers dearly lol. I understand that these birds are potential biters and so I thought it would be best to get one from a young age so that I can learn/grow in trust with it. In all honest opinion, how worried to I have to be about potential serious bites and what tips information could you tell me (a first time bird owner) about taking care of this wonderful bird.
