I'm bringing home my baby in about a month (I'm so excited and pretty nervous, too)!!!
There is one concern (among many) that I would like to get opinions on. I live in an apartment and there are train tracks about two blocks away. The Amtrak uses those rails, but there are mostly freight trains that go by. They go by both during the day and night, intermittently sounding their horns as they pass. Personally, I find it weirdly soothing and it actually sometimes helps put me to sleep (I was in the Navy and stationed on a ship, so I'm used to loud noises at weird hours ), but I am worried about what it will do to my future Grey, especially in those early days and weeks (will the train noises scare the baby and cause him to be nervous?). I was wondering if anyone has had a similar experience or can offer me any suggestions on anything I can do to alleviate any nervousness or fear caused by these noises. Should I be so concerned? I don't want my baby to grow up traumatized. Thanks!
