  2. I got this $2 off coupon from ZuPreem over e-mail, would like to share with you all. Its here on my blog, print out and use it, good till June 20th 2012 >> http://www.myafricangrey.com/
  3. My Congo African Gray parrot is now completely on the pellet diet. When we got Buzz he was on the seeds fruits and vegetables. I did my research on the pellet and was sold, pellets are the way to go for my parrot. I e-mail two pellet manufacturers for samples ZuPreem and Roudybush, and got two responses, ZuPreem sent me e-mail explaining why they don't send out the food samples and 2 days later I got bag of food from Roudybush. I gave Buzz Roudybush pellets and he felt in love with them right away, first day he was trying and didn't know what do do with it, on the second day he was eating them good, 4 days later today he is eating them like mad and can't get enough, and actually gained 10 grams, WOHOO! Thank you Roudybush for sample, my parrot loves them and Im happy. This is another happy story about switching parrot from seeds to pellets. here is my blog post with picture: http://www.myafricangrey.com
  4. at first when we just got Buzz in he was biting kids, so I got him on the stand and got his favorite snack out and had kids just touch him with one finger quick touch and give him snack, that lasted about 15-20 min, at the end of the session he was letting kids hold him and pad his back, take it easy, small step at the time and lots of rewards... you can do it
  5. 6 months 360 grams, how is that sound? normal? Eats great...
  6. SO today is one week from when we got Buzz home, he is coming around very nice and today is the first time he let me scratch his head and neck, wow, what a feeling. here is the small video I took: http://www.myafricangrey.com Enjoy
  7. Im about to make some toys for my gray, parrots love to chew on leather belts, is that safe material? I can chop my old leather belt to make a toy? and another material I was interested is wood. I was going to pickup some round sticks from Lowe's home improvement store to make play station and I was wondering what wood is save out of building material wood. thanks all
  8. talking about pooping. I know CAG poop way bigger and messier then little quaker pile Now, question is about feeding schedule and play time. DO you feed twice a day or food is always available? I remember reading on some sites that they only need to be offered food twice. So like for example you know you going to have some play time in the evening can you take food away few hours before that so your bird wont unload on you?
  9. All good points. well, IM shopping for my gray, will be doing some buying this weekend I hope. Started this blog here, hoping to capture my parrot life from beginning, keep it updated with pictures and all. http://www.myafricangrey.com
  10. Thank you all, very good reply's. I heard what I expected to head. perfect, ill be doing some CAG shopping now. thanks all. and keep it coming if you want, it's all tips and tricks we all learn from each other, right?
  11. good stuff. well some mess is coming sense, my quaker have stuff on the floor here and there, and i dont mind spot vacuuming once a week or so, not a big deal. SO all that makes perfect sense. Now, how about this major feather dust that I was reading about.
  12. Thank you for input. changing location, hmmm, interesting. well so far I got two good news. anyone else?
  13. That's kind of expected from bird twice as size to poop little more, but the question is: is poop stays inside the cage, or your AG trying to shoot it outside? and how about trowing food around or out of the cage?
  14. Hi im new to the forum and doing research on African Gray. Always wanted one. I have Quaker and he is great bird but I want to get something bigger, more intelligent I did allot of reading and online search and what I came up so far is that AG's are messy, trow food around, have that feather dust, and stuff like that. now I would like to hear from you owners. How bad is it? How often you clean up? How you handling this? Is it really that bad, or I just came across few bad posts... Let me know please. thank you
