hello, I'm just curious how other parrots play. Koekie likes it rough:p He likes to hang upside down and swing. And sometimes he screams when he does it:) He really is active and a funny guy. my birds are clipped because parrots are very smart and I don't want him in my house for the rest of his life. So I take him everywhere I go. On my bike, shopping, in the train, on holiday. I even took him with me to my school when I had an English speech My mom goes walking with our dog every day. Why walking with your dog and leaving your parrot at home? A parrot is 7 times smarter than a dog! And sunlight is very very important for parrots.

My Timneh weighs 273 gr!!! He is a small one too, and I had the same problem with his tail feathers! Koekie plays very rough on his back, upside down. And all his tail feather were broken. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n_89m_kMAfU But I just changed the cage settings ( do I say that right? ) When he plays really rough, I just stop him Or get his attention with another toy.Don't know if that's right, but he almost lost al his beautiful tail feathers. And he baths in his water bowl When I see him do that I stop him and put him in the shower. Because when he baths in his waterbowl, his tail feathers get detroyed between the jail. Why didn't you adopt a parrot? Then what you see, is what you get. Hand rearing is bad and parrots can get mental issues when there grown up. Like feather plucking and screaming. I'm with a parrot foundation, who is against hand rearing.Hand rearing will probably be forbidden in the Netherlands. Leave the parrot by his parrents, that's alot better. But if you can't, good luck! Do you have a picture of your baby?

In the Netherlands is a parrot foundation with a amzon parrot who is 91 years old and had a diet of sunflower seeds and peanuts! I've been told to feed Harrisons pellets, but I don't get it, why there are birds on horrible diets who get very old... So I give pellets, seeds, nuts, fruits, vegetables... Just everything. I hope my parrot get at least 60 years old... Then I am 76
