  1. Nice cage, how big is that, Twix is so lucky. I heard Greys are afraid try out new things, but not Twix, congratulation. Can't wait to see Twix new toys . Did you make the swing that's inside the cage. I just made for mine a similar one, but my rope is not that big. I can't find any safe ropes that big at my local stores.
  2. Great, thanks again for those helpful tips
  3. Thank you "Ronakl Byrd" yes, I saw poplar at home depot. I'm wondering if you know for sure that they are untreated?
  4. Thank you Casper, I have a question: my Grey very like to chew on small little plastic bead (parakeet's toy size). Should I take those toys away?
  5. Thank you all, "Talon" it took me an hour and a half to make this one
  6. Hi everyone, I just made these 2 cheap toys. I'd like to share with you guys before my Grey (Eve) destroy them. Eve was tired chewing the same shape, so I shredded some paper plates and cups for her This is all drinking straws. The big straws are a little thicker than water bottle, I think. Do you think birds will get cut?
  7. Thank you, I already asked them about untreated wood, unfortunately, they're not on the safe wood list
  8. Hi, has anyone used wood from home depot to make platform or wood toys? I saw a few names that are on the safe wood list, but I'm afraid to use them. Thanks
  9. Hi every one, I know that many people in here using beads, pop stick and all the wood stuff or wicker stuff from dollar store and craft store, but the label doesn't say what kind of wood are they. I would like to know are they all safe or there are some certain things that I should not buy? Thanks Charlie
  10. :) Thank you for all of the compliments The owner of the bird store guess that Eve is a female, but I will find out soon. It will sound a little ridiculous if Eve is a male. But I really like that name because I pick Eve up on New Year. Honestly, I don't really care if Eve is female or male. I just hope that I know how to train Eve. My first shot was kinda far away from the cage with door close. Eve didn't take any reaction. So I opened the cage snap some more closer shots. Eve, with a cute face, was just looking and wondering at the camera. And yes, I will share more when she gets settled in.
  11. Awesome, I'll get a couple of rawhide, and rubber today. Thank you
  12. Has anyone used dog rope toys for grey before? I saw many cool looking and pretty dog rope toys at petsmart today. I really want to get some, but let me ask first
  13. I hope everyone in here had a wonderful countdown. I was soooo excited when I picked up my Grey yesterday, especially, it was on new year. I don't know the sex yet, but I named my grey is Eve. I have a few pictures I'd like to share with you guys when Eve climbed on the top of the swing after I put Eve in the cage. And I'd like to thank for all of the advises.
  14. You guys are so wonderful, Thank you all. I brought my Grey home yesterday. So I did a little of each what you guys taught me. I cover the cover part of the cage to make the bird feel safe. The temp is the same with the bird store which is around 70 degrees. I took my grey around the house for a moment then I put my grey in the cage after an hour my grey stood on the play stand next to the cage. I hope I did it right I thought my grey would be hidden at the corner on the lowest perch, but my grey climbed on top of swing which I hang next to the front door. I'll post some pictures soon.
  15. They don't eat the boxes they just tear them up so they aren't coming in contact with them but for just short periods of time so I don't think it is anything to worry about. Oh I c, thanks a lot
  16. Hi, I'm soooo excited. I'll pick up my grey tomorrow. What should I do I get the bird home? Here are some ideas what I read from the book. Could someone please tell me if these are truth or false, and please give me some advises. Thank you Put the bird in the cage right away. Cover half of the cage for a few days No contact with other birds for 30 days Turn the heat up 5 degree compare with the bird store
  17. Thank you, and I have another question. Those food boxes has color labels, logos, and pictures. Are those safe for bird?

  19. Hi, I have seen many cardboard bird toys. Can I just one of those moving boxes at office depot or uhaul?
  20. Hi, I'm trying to make a play gym for Grey. I'm wondering if the Poly rope that sell at Homedepot is safe for bird. I saw they use those kind of rope at one of my local Bird store. Thank you
  21. Has anyone use Apple vinegar to clean the cage? Does it count as a scented smell? Is this safe for grey? Thanks in advance
  22. Awesome, a big thank to all of you. I was about to buy a new filter, but now I'm going to use that money to buy stuffs for my new CAG . Portland Or is too cold, I need to cover the cage at night anyway. Should I cover all the cage or half or 75%? The room temp is around 70 -74 degree.
