  1. Our baby grey has her wings clipped.....OK, now I know that this is common practice. However, my wife and I always have her out whenever we're home and she ALWAYS wants to be where we are....She has a perch which consists of a 22" plate with a U-shaped perch and 2 cups. So she'll sit on her perch until she sees us then tries to fly to where we are. Well she ends up doing a nice "faceplant" into a table, chair or other surface about 3 feet into her flight. Since their breastbones aren't covered with feathers is it better to let her wings grow to avoid anymore "crash-landings" and potential harm?
  2. You're very welcome....everyday is met with new exciting whistles and sounds....she loves to swing from her blue rubber ball/bell and squawk at it....We've gotten some good video....I just have to figure out how to load them....she's camera shy....too close and shes quiet....BRAT!

  5. Yes...the tree was a freebie from a job downtown Chicago....it was in the trash so I thought it would look neat behind the cage....
  6. Its VERY similar...however this one for the grey is a little larger...we had 2 at once....couldn't pass up the price! This cage with our Grey baby is in the same spot in the house as the other.....our Cockatoo is gone.....
  7. We're selling our old cage we kept our Cockatoo in....Its identical to our current cage for our Grey but a little smaller....It measures 60" X 36" X 28"......complete with 4 stainless feeder bowls, seed guards, and 1 34" Manzanita perch. We only used it for about 4 months....It is currently for sale on eBay and Chicago Craigslist....Forum members get a $25 discount.....Cage comes completely apart easily and lays flat. Asking $285 on eBay and $275 on CL....I may be able to deliver within a reasonable distance.....please contact me first. Thanks! I'm located 40 miles south of Chicago.
  8. Here is our cage for our baby....65" X 40" X 30"......full of toys and perches......she LOVES it!
  9. Thanks for all the comments everyone! Exciting news! I just returned home from Dr Scott McDonald's house. Cooper is actually Bella! Yep its a girl! The breeder was pretty certain it was a boy due to the darker coloring but turns out we have a baby girl! Guess we jumped the gun a little! Really happy to have Dr McDonald able to examine our girl! It doesn't really matter to us just as long as shes healthy! Weighed in at 425 and he said shes beautiful! A nail and feather trim and were good to go!
  10. Me and my wife Laura......at the Blackhawks vs Senators game in Chicago.....She loves the 'Hawks and I love the Sens......
  11. Well everyone Cooper is home! He is waaaaaaay more than we expected! A Cameroon CAG, VERY tame, whistles ALL day....he is out of his cage about 8-10 hours a day and always wherever we are! We got him from an awesome breeder locally....here is a current pic.....more to come......

  13. The Pretty Bird is what the breeder sent home with us.....he ate it the first 2 days......and now he likes the nuts and grapes.....we're gonna put a call into the breeder tonite.....stay tuned! Our avian vet is Dr. Scott MacDonald and Cooper sees him on Dec. 20th..... He is super-affectionate and falling asleep on our chests! Numerous whistles and calls! We are LOVING our baby!
  14. Hello....well Cooper is finally home! He is a beautiful 15 week old Cameroon CAG.....kinda getting worried because he constantly acts hungry! There is always a bowl of Pretty Bird CAG food in his bowl.....whenever we offer grapes or nuts he cannot get enough....when he "beaks" your finger he thrusts his neck up and down like a baby being fed by its mother! Any ideas? Thanks!
