Just a post to introduce ... Mojo: I'm a busy bird...DNA tested male Congo African Grey Parrot. My mom and my family are a bit frustrated with me. I'm very talkative and I imitate phones, ring tones, can say about 50 different words, I know the names of people in my family and I call my cats..kitty kitty..they hate that. I also meow, mock and imitate them just to get a rise out of them. However, I've developed a bad habit. I like to bight. When I was purchased as a baby about 8 years ago, I started out quite friendly and loved my mom. But then after about a year, I bonded with my big (human) brother, Christian, instead. Mom was old news. Over the years I have become quite rebellious. My big brother Christian, who is 23, moved out and is starting his own life. I'm not too happy with that. Also my mom was surprised to find out I would soon have a (human) big sister. Her name is Kalia. She is now 2 years old. I love to try to bight her any chance I get. I got her good 2 times. She has tasty little fingers and I was able to draw blood. That's how jealous I am of that little person. She takes up all mom's time and attention and I'm left in my cage way too long. Well, now, after 2 years of anger and torment, my family is growing weary of me. They think I may need a new home. Maybe that's true. Maybe I need a home where people will pay more attention to me. So if you know of anybody who has patience and time to commit to giving me the attention I deserve, let them know I'm looking for a new home. I'm not getting along so well over here. Maybe I'd like a wife and some babies somewhere. And that dang baby...always wanting so much attention. I'd like to bight it again. lol!! Nita: I'm mojo's mother. I bought Mojo about 8 years ago. I love him so much. He's such a little character. His vocabulary is amazing!! He's really smart. Probably too smart for his britches. Mojo is not happy with the arrival of Kalia and the fact that his big human brother, Christian, moved out. He bonded really well with Christian. Now he's biting so bad and so angry that even if Christian comes to visit, he bites Christian too. I understand that birds who get mean like this may be interested in a mate or maybe they can take up a career as a breeder somewhere. Does anybody know a good place in Northern California who may be interested in rescuing Mojo? He's a good bird in a bad situation and he needs a loving home where people can devote their attention to him..or...maybe he just needs to move to a home where he can have a wife, breed and make babies.http://www.greyforums.net/forums/images/smilies/redface.gif So, if anybody has any ideas or is interested, please let me know.
