I have purchased some red palm oil. How much and how often should you give this to your parrot?

I recently purchased the Harrison's food products for my grey. I have introduced them to Buster along with his usual fruits and vegetables. However...I haven't seen him eating it, does anyone know the proper way to get him to start eating them? Should I take all his food away except the High Potency Course food? I want Buster to be healthy but am unsure on how to get him to eat it. Help!

Thanks for your comment. Buster, my grey has been eating mostly squash, carrots, pomegrantes, and couple nutriberries a day and stuff like that. Is it hard to convert them to the Harrison's diet? Don't they taste good? How did you convert your bird to eat the harrison food?

News flash to all interested. Buster my 15 yr old grey is back to normal. I did order him some of the Harrison Parrot food and power treats to get him on the best healthy diet. I have heard they have really good organic and sound food. Do you all agree? I supplement his diet with fresh broccoli, apples, carrots, pomegrantes, and more. I would love to hear your comments on the Harrison foods.

You know I tried those Kaytee treats, Buster wouldn't touch them. Guess he is a picky parrot. Ha!

Thanks for your reply regarding the nutriberries. How old are your birds? You have 3 birds? Do they talk to each other? Are they all in the same cage?

I am sorry to her what Pickle went through. I am no expert or a vet but I will tell you my grey did that a couple times last year and it was a low calcium problem. I started giving him a scrambled eggs with the shell broken up in it and more fruits and veggies and it never happened again. When it happened he would fall off his perch, be sqawking loudly and shake, then it was like he didn't have control of one of his legs and he would just hold it up, same thing it would last about 10 seconds. My grey is 15 so he is much older than Pickle. If it continues I would take him to a vet to be sure you find out what's wrong. Good Luck! Keep us updated on Pickle's condition.

Very cute pictures and a great idea

My parrot's name is Buster and he is 15 yrs old. I got him when he was 6 weeks old and hand fed him. He is eating now and acting much better. Maybe he was just tired. Who know's? If he isn't completely back to normal in the morning I will take him to his avian vet. Thanks to you all for the great advice and comments. I am glad I found this website, this is great.

My grey is 15 yrs old and today he seems very sleepy and isn't eating much. Could this be a sign of illness? Should I give it till tomorrow and see if he acts better? He is normally very talkative and active. Today seems totally different. Any ideas?
