  2. we don't use it with the heat on, and my vet also told me it was okay to use it with her. she loves it.
  3. Ruby, my CAG is 4mos. we've had her for about a month now. so far she imitates clicking noises and kissing sounds that we do. i was putting food in her cage while she was across the room on her perch just now and she got all excited and started making her clicking noises and i was doing them back, and then clear as day, i hear her go "hello". totally threw me for a loop. i thought they don't start talking until about a year old. has anyone else's grey ever started talking this early? or am i just crazy and apparently i'm hearing things

    CAG behavior

i'm beginning to think the reason mine does that is because she wants out too. in fact, i think the reason she wants out so much is so she can poop. she rarely poops in her cage at all (1-2 times in 24hrs), but as soon as we take her out and put her down on the floor or counter, she poops, and quite often, until we put her back up. anyone else have this issue? another thing too, she's always trying to get on mine or my husbands shoulder. now she's getting brave and if we're not holding her close enough to us she will try to make a jump for it. idk how to stop that behavior other than say "no" and put her in time out in her cage if she continues...... this is the first bird we've ever had, so we're still learning any advice is appreciated.
  5. i never did figure out why she bit. i think she just didn't want to be messed with at the time. thankfully she hasn't bit since. i guess birds have their bad moods every now and then just like people do...
  6. i have recently gotten a 4 month old female CAG. she's usually a pretty quiet bird but sometimes she will start doing this thing where she's standing on her food bowl and starts scratching at it while squawking. she tends to do this when she first gets up in the morning and at night before bed. does anyone else's bird do this?
  7. so what does everyone do if the bird bites and you say "no" and it keeps biting? the vet told me to put her in the cage, turn the lights out and walk out of the room for 10min for a time out. it's rare our grey gets like that but she has her moments. she's still just a baby.
