  1. Last night, Saturday, My baby conure ate. Today this morning, his crop is swollen, and so is part of his face. Today is sunday, so the vet is closed. How do you treat Crop infection? It looks like theres clear liquid inside. WHat meds should I buy at the feed store, provided they have it or should I wait til Monday, provided he dont die.
  2. Yes.. Babies are so awsom! COngrats on your new baby.
  3. Thanks... My breeder friend whos been breeding for over 20 years said that Golden Conures are a pain to raise, and that she once raised one for 3 months and then it just died for no reason...
  4. I had to pull my Golden Conure chick because the parents were not paying any attention to him. He was pale and skinny. I have him in a brooder and he gets fed about every 2 hours... depending on his crop. 1 Week Old 2 Weeks Old 3.5 Weeks Old
  5. My Grey was sitting on my head the entire time watching her as a supervisor on her colors lesson. I took him off for a sec to see if he would get into the lesson... but desided to fly back on my head... The wooden blocks come from Petsmart under the bird toy section.
  6. True... most people buy birds for there color, and work out the differences later. I compleatly agree. Im trying to produce a solid yellow macaw. I guess there really is no difference, its just a matter of preference. I was looking for a Vos Male, and I was not able to find a pure Vos... only crosses... But then I found someone who has them and I was able to get hone. In my preference, the only ones I cross are macaws... not any other parrot. Thanks.
  7. My baby birds get a stuffed animal. Then when its old and ugly, i throw it out. Each bird gets its own stuffed animals. Right now "RUBY", my Vosmaeri Eclectus has a stuffed monkey... She cuddles it and sleeps quite well. She only crys for food. She gets pleanty of attention. Ruby is bearly getting her tail feathers and a few wing feathers... she's still a little black fluff ball. She's very cute! Hunter had a stuffed lion... Ill see about getting pictures of ruby with the monkey.
  8. From my knowledge, The term hybrid has been used from by a cross bewteen two animals from a different species, they can be from the same Genus to have better results on producing the offspring. A Camelot Macaw is a 2nd Hybrid cross, which means: Breed 1 = Blue & Gold X Scarlet = Catalina Breed 2 = Scarlet X Catalina = Camelot Its been noted that hybrids mature earlier and can reproduce younger than full blooded macaws. Many people have different views on crossing animals. I take both sides. I have breeding pairs to keep the blood line pure, and and I have breeding pairs to create certain hybrids. On Macaws, I support crossing breeds to improve color and friendlyness. Same goes for Peafowl, chickens and other animals around the farm. On other hand, I do not support crossing certain animals like Eclectus. I belive in keeping them pure. As it is it is hard to tell the difference from between Red Sided, Vosmaeri, and SI. I know the female is somewhat distinguishable, but the male to me is the same bird. I keep them seperate at all times. Its really up to the breeder and I know that some people look down on it, but I have no problem with it. The Yellow Camelot is a Beautiful Yellow macaw.
  9. hey everyone. Im picking up 3 babies tomrrow, Wednesday. Im getting 1 blue gold, and 2 baby camelots with no feathers yet. The breeder said one of the camelot babies has a few red feathers... the brother and sistes from the 1st cluch both came out yellow camelots. Im picking up the the Yellow Camelot babies in Oct... but Im curious to see pictures of your camelots, alll colors and ages, as long as they are camelots. Ive seen red camelots that look like Scarlets, and Ive seen Orange Camelots, yellows, and others. Please post ur pictures... Thank you
  10. WOW... Talk about smart... It be nice to come home and find them cooking me dinner... but one can only dream. I dont think they have nailed how to escape... cause then they would escape more often. Right now its only the 2nd time they have escaped. I Dont have a problem with them loose, but If they are loose, I have to baby proof my home, and I really dont want to move the vases I have on the counter, but the gust of hunters mighty wings have knocked them over several times, and they always stop about 1 inch from folling on the floor... Now, I lock up the vases when the birds are out... Ill see about changing some decor... Hunters New favorite spot is that Window Perch. It sits on top of my cabinet incubator... He loves to look out side. He gets to see a Macaw, chickens, turkeys, guineas, peacocks and other birds that pass by. My other parrots are too far from the window to see, but Im sure he can hear them. Quincy enjoys her cage perch, and love walking around the house. walk walk walk, every where she walks. Ruby the baby Vosmaeri Eclectus is still to small to play with the greys in the house, but when hunter hears Ruby crying, he flys over as fast as he can. He knows that its feeding time and gets to eat Ruby's Left overs... Sometimes he wont even let me feed her so I try to feed ruby as quiet as possible.
  11. Thanks... I got home last night and Hunter was on his Kitchen Window Perch looking outside waiting for me to get home.. Cuteste thing EVER!!!!
