Video of pepper (or tesla) hamming it up for the camera
GoDiego replied to CRYROLFE's topic in Photography & Video Room
He's a real cutie pie! It's true what Jayd said, you can see him itching to fly over and investigate the camera -
And lots more photos of him growing up!

This is a really valid point, I clean out the poop try at the bottom of Diego's cage every day. A few weeks ago I ran out of paper to line it with and even with the poop sitting on the metal of the tray for just a couple of hours it actually marked the metal. Parrot poop is quite acidic and so against the parrots feathers and skin for any length of time could make pretty sore areas.

I never bother with making scrambled eggs in pans, I just make it in the microwave, there is a lot less cleaning involved. Just don't over cook it or you end up with something you could use on your cars as a spare tyre! LOL

For those that think that theirs doesn't smell . . .
GoDiego replied to DrTak's topic in The GREY Lounge
Hahahahah! LOL Dan! I love these kind of threads -
This is only my personal opinion but I always have an uneasy feeling about any animal wearing a diaper, It just doesn't seem natural to me. I do know that many people like the flight suits, for me personally I think they look a little silly. I'm constantly walking around my house with wet wipes and wiping up poop, I've just accepted this as being adopted by a bird.

I can't view the video You need to make it public as it's set as being private at the moment -
Glad it's not just Diego, I think it's the whole I want what you have syndrome. LOL

Thanks for the update, it's great to hear that he will lead a normal and happy life. Also great news that you managed to find an Avian vet. Heres a great list of names for Parrots, you might find something you like here http://www.pricelessparrots.com/parrot-names.htm

Hahahahahahahaha LOL, I have just read this out to Diego and he just answered "Clever Boy" Oh my word the timing could not have been better! LOL (Or maybe he understood what I said?) This has just made my night, hahahahaha

Everyone has doh moments Jayd (me more than most) if you have not been well and after your sad news about Prince, I'm sure everyone understands. I hope you feel better soon, don't forget not only our wonderful feathered friends need their health looking after.

I try and give Diego half a scrambled egg with the shell every Sunday morning when we have a cooked breakfast. However, he will take a few beaks fall not look all that impressed and then leave it. When we have finished with our breakfast he flys over to the table and then will eat my son's leftover scrambled egg? Whats the deal with this? I make it exactly the same way but obviously without the shell, could it be this that he is not liking?

I've never had any experience with this condition and noticed his leg looks very swollen, is this normal for Splayed leg? Egydiver, have you had any progress with contacting an Avian vet?

Georgie and your new baby who is due are very lucky to have such a great place to live! I love the way you have setup the new cage all ready for your new family member, it looks great

I may be wrong but I don't think that by having more yellow on them makes them better at talking, rather than it being down to the individual species of the Amazon. Blue Fronted Amazons like Diego are also up there for their talking abilities and they have as much yellow on their heads as an Orange winged Amazon. In fact Orange Winged Zon's are quite often confused with the Blue Fronted but the Orange Winged are the only Zon's with orange in their wings hence their names whereas the Blue Fronted have Red. Don't worry too much about him talking, as many Orange Winged Zons are pretty good talkers. I also think it will help having Georgie as your little Zon will have someone to look up to and copy.

LMAO, No Jaffa is much better! LOL
-
Well it's better than EasyParrot! LOL
-
I like Jaffa as well, especially as he is an Orange Winged and so the name would be fitting after the Jaffa cakes

My mum who lives in the South of England has a conservatory attached to her house, even with a central heating heater it gets freezing in the winter as there is no insulation. After knowing how cold my mums conservatory gets I would be unhappy putting Diego here in the winter. However, your conservatory may be much warmer so it is hard to say. I personally would move them into the main house, where they can enjoy the warmth and feel all cosy during the cold winter months.

I wanted to call Diego "Pipa" but pronounced Peepa which is Spanish for Sunflower Seed. But my 2 boys over ruled me and so he became Diego. Other cute Spanish pet names are: Aleta - Winged Coco - Coconut Aldar - Which means Wise Elder Canela - Cinnamon Benita - Blessed Rio - River Tulio - Lively It took us days before getting Diego to agree on his name, but we all enjoyed picking it as a family. Like Karen's Zon Lucy, Diego is just the same and I know exactly what she means about filling the house with laughter every day.

Absolutely Judygram!! I would not deny Diego any medical care as much as I would my own children.

I'm sorry but I have to disagree with you on this. I have done a search on the Egypt Yellow Pages and 153 vets came up. In the first page of looking at each of their websites, I found the following which have an Avian Vet. I'm sorry but I have not got the time right now to go through every page and filter out all of the Avian Vets but I'm sure that with 3 coming up on the first page of the search, there will be many more. American Veterinary Center 30 El Gezirah El Wosta St. Zamalek, Cairo Tel: 02-27376664, 016-8877005, 02-27376668 Established by Dr. Salah Hassan (23 years of experience in USA) - 1st in Egypt & the Middle East offering top technology in Veterinary medicine. http://www.americanvetcenter.com Dr. Markos E. Pet Vet 20 El Horeya St. Heliopolis, Cairo Tel: 02-24170494 Fax: 02-24170494 http://www.petvetclinic.net/animalcare.html Also it may be worth contacting these Vetinarian Colleges in Egypt as they may also be able to provide you with an Avian Vet list: Alexandria -Faculty of Veterinary Medicine -University of Alexandria Assiut -Faculty of Veterinary Medicine -Asyut University Beni-Suef - Faculty of Veterinary Medicine - Beni Suef University Giza -Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Cairo University I'm sure we will all pray for your baby to be OK but like Judygram said "He depends on you."

I'm sorry to hear about your poor little baby. I'm not sure about this one, but I would highly recommend trying to find an Avian vet if possible. Unfortunately Avian vets don't tend to be just around the corner like with normal vets and most people here on the forum have to drive a long way to get to one. Where about's are you from? as maybe some other members may know of a vet in your area. Another reason why it would be very important to find an Avian vet is, if it is a long term problem with his leg then you may need them for future health reasons. Without an Avian vet to call upon could put his health at risk.

Oh Jay and Maggie, my heart is very heavy for you right now. Prince was truely blessed to have you both as Parronets, like all your other fids. My thoughts and prayers are with you both and that you start getting some good news about Spock. Hugs to you both.
