these are all great it amazes me how everyone comes up with these names, I named Onyx that cos hes a little gem to me

Here is a video of Onyx at 3 weeks he is now 4 weeks and 3 days old and changing very fast i will do another up to date video later the differnce between these is loads. he doesnt seem to like the camera light tho

I was put in a situation were this little guy needed rearing i have hand reared only 3birds for a breeder ten years ago {thats how i learnt}. HOWEVER the worry that goes with this is so great i would not advise any one that has never reared a baby NOT to do it................They are far to precious to risk gettting it wrong. I love my little guy but will never risk this again , luckily hes doing great but is by no means out of the danger zone and the worry sort of takes away the watcing him change ifyou know what i mean. All you guys have been fantastic especially jayd without your help and advise my little Onyx may not of been here..... now hes warm and happy and well fed .......most of all he is truly loved

Thankyou everyone i will kepp you all photos evey week so you all can see him change Today he started flapping his little wings after i had fed him Gosh he is adorable he looks so funny flapping his wings also the first sign of feathers appeared today on the ends of the wings. He is a greedy little guy and loves his food.{just praying it stays that way}

i do have scales he is gaining weight daily and touch wood he is very alert and eats very well i have just posted a photo for you all to see that was wen i first got him 2 weeks ago he is now twice the size eyes are open and hes taking an interest in toys andsmall items that jingle

I know before you all jump down my throat but i have found myself in a situation im hand rearing a 3 and a half week old grey chick. i havent done this for ten years and theni had the hlp of a breeder however the reason being is my husband has just died and i rehomed his greys (very painful decision) but was for the love of the bird i did this. Any way the lady offered me this little guy and against my head advice i went with my heart foolish i know but now need advice im feeding this little guy on kaytee exact formula he is on 30 mls every 4 hours last feed at around 11pm and i start all over again at 7 am i spend most of my day cuddling him hes all i got now i have named him Onyx cos he is my little gem. I live in england uk so any advice would be gratefully recieved thank you everone ........denise

I know its all against what i think but i just lost my husband and i think the lady thought it would help me get over the trauma and to a point it is please dont be cross i know what everyone thinks but i would sooner ge help and advice and take the rollocking later im sorry

Hi there please dont be cross i have sorted out the oother birds this little baby is all i have now i just lost my husband he died 4 weeks ago i was offered this baby by the lady that has given a forver home to steves birds i havent hand reared for ten years but would appreciate any and all advice on here by you all

it will be 4 weeks old on thursday im feeding it on the formula she gave me he has 30mls every 4 hours last feed at 11 pm then again at 7 am he has got some feathers on him just starting to come through i have made a make shift brooder in a fish tank with a heat mat what keeps him warm alll the time i didnt buy him i was given him is this the correct amount he should be on he is on kaytee hand rearing formula

he is not in a brooder i was tld to keep him wrapped up warm i do check hes warm all the time im syring feeding him at min but its been a long time since i did this i am very careful with the temp i feed every 4 hours he will be 4 weeks old on thursday i also now and again give him a few mls of boiled cooled water he is gaining weight fast and feather are just starting to appear the only thing i have forgot is wat age do i start to put a few small pieces of fruit in for him i know its not for a while yet but is it around 8 to 9 weeks

hi and congrats on your new baby please be careful really the breeder was very Wrong letting you take this baby home so soon they should be fully weaned and between 13 and 15 weeks old have you hand fed before

D Hi im denise from uk im the very proud owner of my african grey Mowgli he is 8 months old and was born with a backward facing foot, he has had an operation to rectify this, still got the pin in his leg. I have also just rescued a citron cockatoo she is lovely but was not looked after correctly now ive got to start again her food was rubbish and she has plucked i dont know anything about cockatoos as im a african grey lover really
