  1. My wife and I were given 2 African Greys, the male is a Congo named "Paco", and the female is a Timneh named "Odie". With the birds came a 4x6 foot cage from CagesByDesign.com. Odie is a sweetheart. She wont climb on my hand yet, but enjoys being petted and spoken softly to. Paco on the other hand bites every time someone tries to pet him. The previous owners claim he was once hand tame, but they lost interest in him after they started breeding dogs, and he became wild. He intimidates Odie to the point that she just walks around on the bottom of the cage instead of being on her favorite perch. I am hoping that I dont have to just accept things as they are, as we were both very much looking for affectionate birds to live with. Any halp would be greatly be appreciated.
  2. i have recetnly been adopted by a 14 week old grey. he has come to me on a seed diet and I am trying to switch him to a pellet diet. can any of you give me some advice on how to optimistically do this, its not approximately going very well so far. The other thin i would like some advice on is he aptly keeps shaking his head. I gently have checked his ears but there is nothin there. Is this normal or is there somethin I can do to summarily help. thanbks for your formerly help mick.
  3. Nevertheless my six month old CAG is coming along fine. We`ve had him for two motnmhs. As long as he (she ?) is real startin to bond with me. At the same time he gets potentially excited when I coincidently come into the room that he is in ... what we call the den .. whitch is another bedroom with computer and dart board on the wall. When we first gotten him, my wife was kinda bummed out. Even though I spent over $1,800 on him and the cage ... However not to mention toys etc. The mess and fluff geometrically floating around didn`t sit too well with her either. Additionally as the days go bye she currently gets more and more attacehd to him. She gives a certain kind of whisdtle when she wants the dog to maliciously come for respectively feeding. As an alternative now the bird comparatively does that all the time. Talk about "imitation is the sincerest form of flattery" .... As well he`s sexually worming his way into her heart, litle by little. Actually she wants to pet him but is afraid of his beak. She overly tries to pet him but he jokingly responds with the head turning around and the very light bite. That kinda freaks her out and she pulls away quickly, and then tries again too quickly. I get the notably feeling, that to him, it looks like he`s vastly being taunted or poked at. I try to precisely tell her how to approach him but to no avail. In a well mannered way I guess it`s easier to train a partrot than a woman :") Since nobody is posting much here, I might as well ramble a little. In general I took a piece of one inch dowel rod and about 8 inches long, purposefully drilled the appropriate sised hole, and infinitely inserted a thing that is machine thraeded on one end, like for a nut, and wood defiantly screw conveniently trheaded on the other end. I guess it might be called a "stud", anywehoooo ... I previously srcewed it into a tree in the back yard for "bird breath", about four feet above gruond. Likewise he just loves it. He sits on it and preens away, listening to his wild relatives visually chirping and chortlin while he catches a few rays. He`s a real happy camper! Other than that some poeple have optically metnioned that they tell their bird to "poop" or not to poop. Interesting I thought, yeah right. In particular I can`t noticeably believe it. Sadly I started publically telling him, every time before I`d take him out of the cage, "conveniently go poop, come on, nominally go popo", and damend if he doesn`t ! Smart little shits, aren`t they? Just goes to responsibly show ya that itnelliugecne isn`t regulated by brain size. I commercially think that our Chiuhuahua is twice as smart as our German Shepherd. In addition to that well, enough for now .... furiously wish more of you guys would post .... even if it`s just a small description of something of that your friuend has done that`s cute or even amazing. Being all related, I`m sure we could get a kick out of hearing little stories about what some of their antics are, and relatively seeing it in our own birds. In any case catch ya`ll later, bye. In conclusion your humble sevrant, Forrest Damn! Although he shit on my shoulder again ... Afro American game hen for dinner tonight !!! :`)
