are you guys talking about giant CAGs? well simon is really on the smaller side, when i bought him he's really small compare to the other CAG the breeder has. he is now 6 months old and weighs around 400g (give or take).
-
hmmm, i might try this one!
-
so sad on what happened. if youre still looking for a breeder try contacting Bill, he is in Salinas. I've got my CAG from him, here is his email: afgrey123@aol.com or you might want to try Lynn: lynnsbirds.com, she's in san jose. There is another breeder in Watsonville but can't remember the name. goodluck!

well my CAG really doesn't care about Harrisons, I've tried twice already and really no luck. I've just recently I switched from frutiblend to natural and got no problem with the switch. So for the past 5 days he's been eating the Zupreem natural plus his usual fruits and vegies.
-
I think the best way is use the 32"L x 24"W x 36"H (81cm x 61cm x 91cm) minimum. The bigger the better.
-
why don't you try soaking the harrisons in a juice? well my fid really doesn't want to eat the harrisons, i've tried twice and no dice he'll just ignore it. from seeds to zupreem fruitblend to zupreem naturals, i don't have problems.
-
Simon my CAG loves the pomegranate but I have to limit the feeding. I have to remove the stains on the carpet first! Funny thing is when I put a piece of it for him to eat he just ignored it until I showed him I am eating it then he follows.

welcome and congratulations on your first grey. I am a new owner myself so if you have any questions or doubt on what you are doing don't hesitate to post your concern. A lot of people here are very helpful and will give you their insights based on their personal experiences.

based on my experience with reptiles that kind of lamp is not reccommended because you can't spread the light output that much. If you can find a lamp that look like the one Zoomed (zoomed.com) is selling it is much better since the light will be more spread. It doesnt mean it is not good but it would be more efficient. another thing is make sure the light is on top of your fid so that your fid will not stare on the bulb which is bad for their eyes. just my 2 cent.

I do think they can, actually all animals do understand and most of the time it's us human who don't/can't understand them.

I don't know if I'm really doing it right, since I am home all the the time my fid stays outside. Sometimes I do put him inside the cage for no reason at all, just to let him get used to be inside his cage during the day time. If we're going out he stays inside the cage. Both inside and playtop have toys, food and water. My fid is clipped but he knows how to get down from his cage and sometimes would wander going upstairs using the stairs or will stay in the kitchen looking for crumbs my daughter dropped.

Post edited by: raleej337, at: 2009/11/06 01:07

I will give Harrisons another try, I've just called them asking for a second bag of samples. If my fid snob the Harrisons for the second time then will really settle for Zupreem.

congratulations on Chimay's first "sentence"! My 4 month old CAG is still mumbling but it sounds like he's trying to say "what do you want?" the question we're always asking him.

Choose a grey over rose breasted cockatoo, indian ringneck and conure...their ability to talk (tho there is no 100% assurance they will talk), not that loud (i live in an apartment), intillegence and size. Honestly even before I've learned that they are considered the best talker of all parrots, I have been so interested with a grey since I saw my landlords greys 5 years ago.

as they've said the leg band (ring) is basically the breeders identification. most of the time the ring have the following data: avian club name or breeders name(initials), breeders identification (sometimes letters, numbers or combination if they belong to a particular bird club), hatchling number (like if yours is the 20th chick during the year) and the last two digits of the year when your bird hatched. Some will look like this: APC L123 0809

Science: they from dinosaurs Religion: God created them as they are What if we mix them and say they are created in the garden of eden while the dinosaurs roam outside the garden.

It is really sad but of course business is a business. Petsmart is here for business and hiring a person to just interact with birds that they are selling is a bit of a loss in terms of manpower cost. Petsmart or Petco are just a retail store. Hey I am not affiliated with those chains just sharing my thoughts about those stores. Do I buy pets from them...No, but do I buy items from them (pet food, toys, etc)..yes. Does that mean I support their way of dealing with animals? I don't know, you tell me.
