  1. Not sure. If he is being sexually stimulated he isn't making any strange noises. I looked up grey mating on youtube and got the following: I never him do that when I hold him.

  3. No other birds besides Jiggy. I don't think he would appreciate another bird in the house.
  4. Crazy. Mine dunks all of the ZuPreem before eating it but specifically doesn't like the purple ones. He either leaves it in the food bowl or dunks the purples ones and never retrieves them. The water turns purple too. We also have another "reserve" food bowl under his main food bowl. He will throw food down to the second bowl and beg for more food. It's like he is stock piling for Y3K!
  5. I absolutely LOVE my Jiggy (TAG). He about 10 years old. I was there from the beginning, feeding him his birdy baby food to his latter years. All in all, I don't have many problems with him. He has a few behaviors I don't totally understand but basically he is a good bird. I feed him veggies/fruit. I also keep ZuPreem in the cage at all times. He actually loves ZuPreem (we had him on it since he was little). Oddly enough, he doesn't like the purple ones. He either avoids them all together or leaves them in his water dish and never retrieves them. He loves toys that he can shred. He will spend forever just pulling things apart. He isn't too bad with screaming but sometimes he gets mad when we leave the room and keeps calling us. I used to take him outside because he seemed to love it. I stopped doing it though because I am scared to death he would fly away. His wings are clipped but I guess it can still happen from what I read. He tried on a flight suit (with patented poop pouch) but he seemed to hate it. It felt like maybe it was too tight even though I ordered the correct model. He would get so angry in that thing so I gave it up. I saw some videos on the internet called birdtrick.com. I was going to order it but I read that the guy using the "flooding" technique and I was worried that maybe that wasn't the right approach. Also, I always wanted to see a DVD on Greys in the wild. I never came across such a thing so if anyone has seen a good documentary that would be great to know about.
  6. My "Jiggy" is ten years old. When he is out of the cage he lets me hold him without biting and strangely enough he seems to like being petted like a cat/dog (head to tail). He does not seem interested in a head scratch. I have had him on his back but he seems really nervous and starting biting on his feet. If my fingers come close enough to his beak he will get aggressive on his back. He loves being wrapped in a blanket. He kind of nestles into the blanket.
  7. Yeah, the water is on the other side. Crazy bird picks up the food and shuffles to the other side!
  8. Why does my grey seem to want a head scratch when he is in the cage but NEVER wants a head scratch (doesn't lower head) when he is out of the cage? Also, I usually don't head scratch him when he is in the cage (through the bars) because he will enjoy it and then sometimes turn on me. He will turn around and give me a bite. What's going on here?
  9. Good grief, my grey loves to dip everything in his water. I change his water and like an hour later it looks terrible. He dips everything before he eats it. Sometimes I think he does it because he is bored. I have toys but it seems like that's how he likes to spend his time. Are all of your greys dippers?
