  1. Yesterday was a big day! We began harness training :)He is now 14 weeks old! Showing off how good he's behaving: Telling Gryffin my 12 week old Hawkhead that the harness isn't so bad Time for a nap, wearing a harness is tough! Flamingo? Finally! Snack time!
  2. I know I will love the bird he has become. I visit him every day Very cool and well adjusted. I guess this post is more of a vent, as I am in the countdown phase till he comes home. The last Timnehs at the aviary weaned at 13 weeks, so I guess thats why I imagined him coming home about now.
  3. I am so happy the aviary does abundance weaning, it really is the best for them, however my Harley just doesn't feel like weaning. Tomorrow he will be 14 weeks old, and he's still on 2 feedings a day. Even the CAGs that are almost 2 weeks younger than him are on 1 feeding a day! I really want my baby to come home!
  4. That's so cool! YAY ECKO!!!!! He's adorable
  5. My baby's name is Harley. He is Harley because the day after we found out he was a boy, my dad bought a motorcycle.
  6. Hi Tracie! Harley's hatch date was June 10th, so our babies are VERY close in age
  7. Attached are pictures of Harley on his first day in a cage. He's 8 weeks old and a few days. I'm so proud of him! He isn't quite sure what to make of it, however he played with some toys and ate lots of millet (even tried to pick it up with his foot). Can't wait to see what he's up too tomorrow when I go for my visit! Sorry the pics are blurred a bit- I took them with my cell phone.
  8. CONGRATS! I love Timnehs I can't wait to bring my baby home, but I have until at least the middle of Sept. to wait.
  9. Not sure if that link worked. Trying a new one. http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?pid=8290629&l=8fca0919ff&id=715300200
  10. Yesterday, on my visit with Harley, we played for a bit, and he promptly passed out in my lap. Here's a pic. Too dang cute!
  11. So today I went to the aviary to visit my 7 week old Harley. I was holding him and cuddling him, and there was a kid in the store. For whatever reason, the kid decided to run full speed at me, carrying a bag of bird food and threw the food in my lap, where my baby was. I put my hands around him to protect him, but before I could, Harley started to growl/scream. Whenever the kid came into view Harley would growl. Is this a sign of things to come? Will he forever be scared of kids? Or is this a baby thing? Just wondering! Thanks!
  12. Introducing Harley, my 7 week old TAG In these pics, he is 6 weeks and 5 days old. He's darling :cheer:
  13. oops. I just realized there's another thread in a different subforum. This can be closed if needed.
  14. So fill me in- have you made your bird their own play gym? My husband is a great "handy man" Have any recommendation or instructions? I was thinking about going to Home Depot and checking out the PVC and wood materials. Would it even be worth making one, or is it far cheaper just to buy one?<br><br>Post edited by: TAG, at: 2009/07/29 21:28
  15. How funny! I was looking at the same seller as you- everila. I was looking at their dometophttp://cgi.ebay.com/Large-Bird-Cage-Parrot-Cages-Macaw-Dometop-36-x26-x65_W0QQitemZ260429338329QQcmdZViewItemQQptZLH_DefaultDomain_0?hash=item3ca2cc56d9&_trksid=p3911.c0.m14#ht_1088wt_732 because I like the diminsions (and heck, the free shipping doesn't hurt either), except I was hoping to get a play top cage. This is the other one I liked-- but not sure it will fit in my townhouse! http://cgi.ebay.com/Large-Bird-Parrot-Cage-Macaw-Cockatoo-Playtop-40x30x67_W0QQitemZ380131659543QQcmdZViewItemQQptZLH_DefaultDomain_0?hash=item58819ccf17&_trksid=p3911.c0.m14#ht_1391wt_732
  16. Hi there. Previously, when ordering my Parrotlet's cage, I found a website dedicated to bird cages. Now I am looking for a cage for my Timneh. I found a few new cages on ebay. Is it worth the risk to order a cage from there? Would love all opinions. :cheer:
  17. Hello! My name is Lindsey, and I am a new member from Northern Virginia. I'm 26 years old. I'm the mom of a male Timneh grey, who hatched June 10th, which makes him about 6 weeks old now. I haven't come up with a name for him yet, but I am thinking he *might* be named Harley. Even though he currently lives at his aviary since he has not started weaning yet, I go visit him every day. As far as my flock goes, I also have a 26 year old cockatiel, and a 3 year old Pacific parrotlet (both males). I'm a complete animal lover. I have a dog, 2 cats, several tropical fish and 2 horses which I compete on. I thought now would be the best time to get a grey, which I have wanted my entire life, because I work form home. I'll be able to spend plenty of time with him. I can't wait to bring him home! I will be reading this board to get lots of information on training and making his life the best I can do. I look forward to chatting with all of you <br><br>Post edited by: TAG, at: 2009/07/29 14:01
