my grey Gaia willingly goes into her cage every time i ask her but she is 5 years old now.,when i first gor her a year back i had a little amazone and she refused to go into the cage.,but i put them to bed same time every day if possible .., now i have a cockatoo at 1 year and she can take hours to get in the cage.,.,i put my palm over her back and get her in that way.,she is used to be caught by a net by the people that have her before and i dont want to do that ., some times i can lure her into the cage with some of her favorite food .,and its going better each day.,becuase she know she will be out again the next morning., i also takes them out during the day when ever i can.,and since i work at home i can have them out a lot .,i can see your problem with long work hours and kids .,maybe you should try and take him out sometimes when you come home and let him join the routine in the house or try and find out what his favorite food is and put it in the cage when he has been out for a certain amount of time ., sometimes i get Sille in her cage and then leave the door open so she can go out again .,that way she will not feel that every time she goes into the cage that it will be long before she gets out again ., hope this will help a bit ., good luck .,:laugh:

Hey Gaia refuse to take a bath if i spray her i use misty water but she attacks me when im doing it so have to have her in the cage when doing so .,sometimes but very rare i can get her to bath in the sink but she onlu gets wet on her stomac and the tip of the wings she dont get soaked.,but when she does bath she seems to enjoy it.,but it takes a long time to get them used to it if they dont like it ., and one mistake can set the whole thing back to square one again.,so go slowly in her tempo .,and she might learn it,

Hi Tyco's mum , sorry to hear about your cockatoo but it was ´good you could find him a great new home .,. and thank you .,she realy is adorable Sille.,, and so cuddely .,i wish i could bring her with me every where,,, but maybe when she really get to know me i might be able to .,

Hey Finally i have a lot of time for Sille, and i have had them both out at the same time , and it went so well .,Gaia did a few close flyings over Sille's head ., But sille just made herself big and Gaia was gone again., so i hope that will last,.. im so realieved.. :kiss:

thank you very much.,i love that little (big) bird,i find her so beautiful .. and i have been at work the last two days ., so tomorrow i will have a lot of time to really get to know her better,,.and so far Gaia dont seem to mind her., so i will let them be out toghether tomorrow and cross my fingers that it will go well ... :woohoo:

hey ., yes i know what you mean by getting addicted... i am too .. if i had the space i would have lots of birdies .,but now i just got Sille i will have to do with that.,lool and she will probably be a handfull on her own ., so they both keep me busy ..,for now.
