I am angry.. A lady that is on another forum with me had to go out of town. She had a neighbor that had birds and asked the neighbor if she would look after her birds and the neighbor said yes. The lady returned home 10 days later to find her key under the mat and both of her bird cages moved outside...one bird dead and the other near dead..it died the following day. They died of starvation and dehydration. Why? Why would she moved the cages outside in the heat and leave them to die? If she didn't want to care for the birds she should have said so. Things like this is why we don't trust anyone to care for ZaZu. When we travel for business she goes with us. We bought a travel cage for just that purpose. comments are welcome

After months and months of searching and several let downs we have finally found our baby. He is a sweet boy that will be coming to us in late September or early October. He is a gorgeous boy born on May 31, 2009. :lol: Now we are in search of a cage for this little guy. ZaZu has a very large cage that her previous companion gave us when we took her. We want a large cage for this boy as well....he needs plenty of room. ZaZu is only caged when we have to go out and at night..other than that she rules the roost..so to speak. We have decided to name this boy Ziggy. We came up with that the long way. Since he is a CAG we wanted an African boy name. I looked up names and found Iggi which means "only son"..that fit but to make things flow we added a Z and Y..Ziggy. So we are going to have ZaZu and Ziggy. I will post photos as soon as we get him here! And if you guys know where we can find a good cage at a decent price do tell!

I had two greys stolen from me five years ago when my ex husband and I separated. Since that time I have wanted another. I remarried 2 years ago and my husband was thrilled about getting a grey. He preferred cockateils. But last week I found a grey that the owner could no longer keep. He is a young bird, 6 months. The owner was male and his girlfriend was terrified of the bird and let the bird rule her. When we went to pick him up I reached out to pick him up and he nipped my hand and pinched it pretty hard. I did not pull back and finally he stepped up on my hand. We have had him four days now. He has adjusted really well but there is a problem. He is great with me during the day. He plays with me, tries to talk to me and lets me handle him. Everything is great until my husband comes home and then if I try to touch him I get bitten. What can I do? He will put his hand down for my husband to scratch his head and pet him and even during the day he will not let me do that. I don't know what to do. help please?

Just wanted to introduce Zazu and his humans..that would be me, Bobbie and my husband Wayne. ZaZu is a young CAG, 6 months and we have only had him a short time. He has picked his human and that is Wayne. He tolerates me during the day and is really sweet. But...when Wayne comes home, he really would rather not bother with me and wants to nip at me. I just keep working with him and have been bitten several times. Hopefully we will find help here in this forum..
