lovethatgrey.. 23 weeks, everyday? Now that is true love for sure! you put so much into her and you will get it back for a life time. She is a beautiful girl! Linda..you actually got an email from the owner of Alex?? wow!! That is impressive!! I did not name him, my son did...he just liked the name..and if he is a she, the name still works and it's simple. He has not been DNA'd, we are assuming male because he is large. The owner tells my son to pick a different name because there are thousands of greys named Alex...but my son doesn't care, he likes it. I wasn't clear on your greys name..is he an Alex also?? Patricia.. when he was just a few weeks old he was smaller than the others.. he is huge and I really would of preferred if he was smaller... but we love him, he is a sweet baby. I think I will have to have a macaw sized cage ready as a back up..lol! How are your two doing? The TAG is still there..what an incredible bird... I held him/her for a long time yesterday and you can put her on her back, rub her belly..almost anything..I can not believe how sweet her disposition is! The woman who works there told me she was her favorite and she plays with her all time...confirmed she was just a sweet, lovable bird. kills me not to be able to take her home, I get weak when I see her ann marie

caitb2007 ..lol!! you cracked me up! I do get to hold him..for two minutes..then I hear "mom, can I have him back now" he is a little hog with him :angry: he is about nine weeks old. The owner feels he will be weaned in a week or two.. he is eating on his own and started to perch..it's an exciting mile stone. we were going to do one hand feeding a day...but I am not really sure if we should... I'll see in two weeks where he is at , but he probably will be fully weaned... hope so! luvparrots..aw, thanks! we can't wait lovethatgrey.. he is big.. when we went today, my son went right to him and I said..Is that Alex??? each time we see him, he chas changed so much.. I am glad us humans don't age as greys do..lol!!! Judy.. sorry for my confusion..wow! 40+ years old..that is amazing!!! I love yours..can't beat custom built! You have a lot of fun things in yours for Charlie & Cracker, I can see why they love it. We have a tiel also, 'Freddie' he is my daughters bird and a real sweetie! I want to do the same for Alex (and Freddie if he will like it) ..lots of nature kind of things to make it fun for him and to keep him from being bored...he will probably hate coming back in, especially in the winter when he can't go out at all..way too cold here (ny)..hmmm cargo net..that was a great idea..I guess you used that instead of the birds play nets?? Maybe if you put beads and some of the things that Charlie is familiar with, he will not be so afraid?? Just a thought. I wanted to get one of those nets also.. they had a web site in how to make them...it will fun to try, and if not..shopping on line here I come great sharing with you!! Ann Marie

Carol, I think maybe Judy did not want you to be overwhelmed. Everyone knows their own limits and what they can take on or what they want to take on, I am a true believer in that... kind of like only bite off what you can chew..lol I know you are very happy and I am very happy for you... I know you can do it and you will be just fine. they are both beautiful babies and I can't wait to hear all about them when they come home. Patricia Thanks for letting me know what harness you have..I like the sound of it..I will look it up on line. Taking her a walk is so darn cute! Probably keeps her nails manicured Too bad you lost out on the out door aviary...it really sounded nice!( and big) and what a fabulous price..wow!! I am sure there will be another opportunity for you..just keep checking local papers, yard sales etc... one will pop up sooner or later. The one we are ordering is 1200.00 It's 5 foot hexagon shape..not huge at all, but it will be big enough to put different level perches, boings and other toys to chew and forge for him, and one day a possible second bird. it will be perfect when we spend time in the yard over the summer for Alex to be near us, getting fresh air and playing. ( hope he likes it) Your adventure pack looks pretty neat..let me know how it goes and how they like it... speaking of traveling in style!...I would say you have very spoiled, much loved babies:) Ann Marie Ann Marie

casper..wow..three?? you must be busy! I will bring another home one day,I am sure. I really would like to. Some say if you are planning to add a second, to do it when they are both still babies, or before they reach one year of age... that makes sense to me , as there still will not be a guarantee they will like each other, but if they grow up together, we may have a better chance of a friendship... We will give it time as we want to give Alex all our attention and devotion first. I think we are off to a great start in all that we will do for him to make him a happy little guy. I was not planning or even thought of another bird , it was the moment that this sweet little baby started to win my heart... to be honest, she was the nicest of the bunch and she really did amaze me.. I think that would be anyone's feelings towards a baby being in your arms loving the pieces out of you.. so hard to resist that.. but it is best we give it time reality hit..lol get some rest Ann Marie

Patricia.. you certainly have done wonders with Tyco... terrible she had a bad few years before she was blessed with you. I am sure the rewards of your hard work is bountiful Oh..I did see the picture in your avatar a while back in one of your posts... they are both beautiful and looks like they get a long well! Adaya is a real doll baby! She has the sweetest face and expression ever! She is adorable in her harness ( love the red on her) hehe. Yes, I wanted to get a harness. Can you tell me where you bought that one and the size you ordered?? We are also buying an out door aviary for the warm months here, it's by Sun Catchers, this way Alex can spend safe, free time with us when we are out side and he can enjoy sunshine and fresh air too. Honestly, we are really looking forward to have him home. We may bring him home when he is down to one hand feeding a day. The owner suggested it and next week we will start doing it with him so we get use to it and learn... I have hand fed many years ago, but it has been a long time... I'll see! Thanks! Ann Marie

oh Patricia! she is just beautiful..I love her smile..how cute is that?? Is she 5 months now?? It's nice when you can do some of the hand feeding, it brings a closeness to you both..did you hand feed Tyco? ...thanks for posting the picture, I can see why it is one of your favorites lovethatgrey..I know..I do! I do have a lot of work cut out for me with one baby...I have been reading and reading ..mostly about training and parrot behavior, as far as going back to the wild. etc... I am also buying a tree gym..looking at bottle brush wood and a bunch of other things to keep him happy and mentally stimulated besides our love and patience..so I have a pretty good idea what may be in front of me to come I realize one step at a time.. but I have to admit... these little boogers are hard to resist! Judygram... I know..I know... I am really excited to get Alex home as it is... and you are 100% right..one at a time. It was just my heart falling in love with that cute baby doll...but I know it will be a lot of work just with Alex here. I will cool my jets Patricia..congratulations!!! Very hard to resist them. This baby TAG kind of picked me.. "she" kept coming to me, pulling on my shirt,giving me goo--goo eyes, I can see where they can be cuddle bugs, it was so cute! Now I am saying..hmmm,my daughter has her own bird, my son will have his and I am feeling so left out.. maybe it's my hormones.. lol! I have read so much on here and learned a lot from all of you! Hi! we went to visit Alex today..he is getting a wee bit bigger and more feathers are growing... here is a new picture of him anyway, Alex is more so my 'son's bird', even though we all hold, cuddle and talk to him .. we spent two hours with him today and he was as sweet as a baby could be ... while there, I had a lot of time to play with all the other birds and.....ready? I fell in love with a TAG! He / she is soooo sweet! (looks like a girl, but thats just a guess) I am thinking of getting him/her also...believe?? She is still very young also..I think I got bit by grey fever!!! Does any one have both?? Do they get along if close in age?? Is your TAG sweet?? share as much as you can about having two..I am all ears..hehe! stay tuned! Ann Marie
