I wanted an African Grey years ago but wasn't sure if I was ready. I went to Petco bought a Bird Fancy Magazine and saw the African Grey parrot. I did some research like I always do and thought that since my baby days are over *smiling* This will be my everlasting baby. I always heard about the talking capability, how smart they are, and how gorgeous they are also too. Then I started to notice that there are more then just a "talking" bird. They are beautiful and complex beings just like us. They can be funny, exciting, loud, inqusitive, sensitive curious and most of all beautiful. I have learned so much being here in The Grey Forums from everyone here. I have an amazing breeder who is also telling me the ins and outs. Making sure I am ready I am so excited that we are choosing to have an African Grey and I know in my heart we are all READY for this amazing ride!

OMg Catlin look at your baby! What a cutie pie. I know that you are sooo happy! Our breeder thinks the baby I want is a boy too. She has 3 babies but 2 are on the waitlist for a boy and a girl. I don't care but the baby we want has a big head, large nostrils and is big she's pretty sure he's a boy too. Something about those large heads and nostrils. Good luck enjoy him and have fun! I have also asked my breeder not to clip our baby's wings this is what she told me: "I don't clip Greys if they're lacking balance, and I let them fledge as long as possible, but! ..I'm glad you want to keep him with his wings longer. It will make him a more confident bird in the long run." She is so amazing she also sent me a ton of pictures so I am going to post them too lol! Thank You Judy and Dave for the awesome advice and for being so passionate about our baby birds. Wow look at all the love here! I just got off the hone with our breeder and she has sent me apicture of a baby I would love to have! I have to pick out names too Dave I will ask if she dosen't clip his wings and we will have our Vet do it when he is older. Thank You for the expert advice. Baxtersmom I thought bleach was safe too as long as you dilute it with plenty of water. We don't have our baby yet but this is a good topic.

Aww Thank you Judy! You are always here to give us moral support! I am excited too and Tina looks so loving with the babies she has like 32 videos onyou tube of her babies! Yippeeeeee I will post more when she sends me some in the nursery too!

*Doing a happy dance* {Emotions-000200BE} I promised Judy and Baxtersmom updates! I have been in communication with our new breeders mommy all day and off and on last night, Even though where 3 hours different lol. Everytime my blackberry would chime (new emails messages) I would wake up and start sending replies on my phone lol. I have a Video of our baby now he/she is with there siblings. She has three of them and we will get the DNA back in about 2 weeks she's waiting on there toenails to grow a little bit more. Here is the video with all three of them 2 toes is the baby on the left, Lil girl is in the Middle and I am pushing for Skeksi on the right he's the biggest one at 100 grams more then his one day sibling already! And she said he is the most cuddliest one and very alert. Tina believes in them being Fully Fledged before clipping wings, she trains them to step up, she towels them so they can be used to having there toenails done in the towel, She holds them and kisses the babies, her mom dad and teen age daughter are there to hold the babies too. They are weaned onto pellets, fruits vegies, sprouts and some seed. She also introduces them to Harnesses while they are small so they can get used to them and won't be afraid when they get older. Here is Skeksi who I think I may want I am on cloud nine right now. She will email me some individual pictures today as well as some videos too! WOW Thank You everyone for all the reccomendations and all the love here! i appreciate veryone for reaching out to me. Lyric I can't wait to be a Mama again. I have human kids, My coworkers at work who also call me mama too and soon a baby grey! I am awaiting one more email from our "New Breeder" Fingers crossed. Thanks Dan! It was Baxter's Mom doing too she made me think about alot of things as well. P.s I am awaiting on a breeder to get back to me on my 1,000 question survey that I asked her lol. Well I received an email and there going to reimburse my credit card back! So that was good news thanks everyone for all the great advice and links to your breeders.Sweetnlowww I can't forget about the birds that what I did it for I wanted a breeder who would let me know how our baby was doing too. I just think its important to know what's going on too
