{Nature-000200A9} hi all does any1 know why/what my bird is doing/wanting or needing as she holds onto her cage or her food bowl with 1 foot and her beak and and is trying to SKATE (you know try to ride a skate board that is not there lol) she will do this regular through out the day and some times it can last 2-3 mins. i dont think its coz she board as her cage door is open all the time we are home so she can come out, she has toys, fruits, nuts, veg and seeds she gets our love and time. 1 thing we have noticed is that she dont do it when on us or on her play top its only in the cage does any1 else's CAG do this ? why is she doing this ? thanks all {Nature-00020095}

{Nature-0002009B}hi again ok look at the pic that you have posted on the right hand side of the cage door that part of the seed guard has a bow in it down the length also down the front edge where the screws go, its bowed if you look now that i pointed this out the bows stand out like 2 sore thumbs lol i know they dont seem to want to bend but trust me and try this screew 3 sides of it together nice and tight get the triangle shape then the last piece put 2 screws in 1 side and begein to stretch or push or bend until the top hole lines up for the 3rd screw place that 1 in the reshape the bottom until it screws in all these cages seem to be the same and need slight adjustment when building them like i said it took me hours to work out how to use it and i had success and im sure others have had the same trouble my way worked for me and should do for you it doesnt damage the paint or powder coat just dont be to rough {Nature-00020095}

{Nature-000200A9}i posted the solution on mr congo for you but i missed out this detail when it makes a triangle push the 2 side bits out a little until its nearly square then put the back piece up and see how far off you are keep repeating this process until its square let us know how it goes{Nature-00020095}

Post edited by: Fisher, at: 2009/03/04 20:35

the cage sounds how ours was its very simple find the 1 thats the same lenght as the cage front and then the 2 side pieces screw them together and lift into place on the cage then put the back piece up and in place with the sides and front and screw it up tight thats it it took me 2 days to work out how they worked but there on now and doing the job

{Feel-good-00020069}hi all just had to let you all know we brought home our baby cag today (2 hours ago) soon as we got in we open up her box i lifted her into her cage after 10 mins she was climbing around it i opened the door and she climbed up to the top and sat on her play top she now cleaning herself and eating out of her dish i cant belive it. we was told she had not flew yet she already had 3 flights and trying to do more but crashs into things also she loves all of our attention and wants to be with you but also likes walking on the front room carpet il upload some pics soon need to get a couple first lol anyway we are all over the moon shes home and cant wait for her to make a noise as shes bein very quite at the minute but hey its very early days yet {Nature-00020095}

i would seek help from an avian vet if its not a health issue then try things around the home hope this helps{Nature-00020095}
-
thank you so in short let them spend alot of time together but look out for the signs when (RAPPA) the cag has had enough
-
thanks for the heads up jhhuhma we have already met our bird on 2 different occassions and she seems to love my little boy and remembers him she has bein hand reared inside the house and has even had the kids of the breeder have a feed i know the risks and belive me if i thought it would be a problem we would not be bringing her home but on the other hand we will be always near when its my son and cags time together and if any problems my son just wont handle the bird. i must add my son is very quite and of a calm nature but does love his animals no matter wat they are and spends lots of his time playing with his dog they get on like a house on fire lol so hopefully all should be good but a steep learning curve for all

i have a son who is 3 this saturday and we are buying a CAG also this saturday we hope they will both get along fine as we alraedy know our son is good with them as a friend of the family has some kind of amizon. we understand its going to take time and alot of effort to learn them both wats right and wrong but we are well ready for the challange i think it would be ok as long as your child understands when you say no to leave the bird alone. also think of it as it good company for your child and the rest of the family hope this helps you dawn5679 {Nature-00020095}
