1. Hi Everyone, I bought some ptfe free pans at Walmart about 2months ago the name brand is Tramontina. Well they have not held up well at all, so if anyone is thinking about buying them don't. If anyone has a name brand that they like please pass on the info to me. Also is their any other kind of pans that are ok to cook with? I know glass is ok but looking for frying pans...I finely posted a pic of Paco. Hope all is well and thanks for all your help. Jo
2. Paco has been with us for 5 days now and has been making great progress. Here are a few pictures. He has not been out of his cage for a few years so as you will see, he is one happy bird. If anyone has any ideas about how to get him to eat veggies please pass them my way. only veggies he will eat is pancakes with shredded veggies in them. Having a hard time downloading pic's

Post edited by: joking, at: 2008/11/24 16:12

update on Paco

Thanks for the tips. I will keep giving him treats and see what happens. I think he had a poor diet, just a guess by what kinds of food he came with. Lots of salt products and even some candy.:woohoo: We have already been giving him more fruits and veggies. going to get him some different food today.
4. Well Paco has been home for about 8hrs and all is going well I think. We brought his cage and all his toys from my ex. within minutes after getting him settled he was taking food from us. He seems to like apples, carrots and scrambled eggs the best out of all the foods we tried. He is now talking up a storm, some thing not so good, seem he knows some bad words. He let my son and husband Ty rub his head, but I can not get near him. I am guessing he like males better. Will post some pic in the next few days.

Food

Hi everyone Paco comes back to me tomorrow, my ex took him to the vet and all is well, the vet suggested pellets, just want to know what you think about that. also I found a recipe for The mash diet. I have been reading and have found loads of great info here. Just want to thank everyone. One more thing, I found nothing about giving meat to a grey? Is it bad or ok? thanks Jo:S
6. THANKS, I WILL LOOK AROUND THE RESCUE ROOM. AS FOR THE PANS WE HAVE 3 OLDER CHILDREN THAT WILL HAVE NO PROBLEM TAKING THEM. IAM EXCITED ABOUT BRING HIM HOME.
7. Thanks for all the response. We have decided to take Paco back. My new husband has had birds in the past. I let him know that this would be a huge commitment. I called the ex and told him to take Paco to the vet for a wellness check-up. I didn't want Paco's first encounter with me to be stressful. I am working until Tuesday of this week and then off the rest of the month so I can spend lot's of quality time with Paco. If any one has advise on what I could do to help make the transition please please write back. I have read lots about non-stick pans and just wanted to ask there are new pans out that don't have that chemical in them. Anyone know anything about them? I will post pic of Paco soon. Jo

newbie

Just want to thank everyone for all the postings. I had a grey and my ex-husband took him(paco)in the divorce. He called me last week and asked me if I would take him back, due to he feels he cannot give him enough attention. I am now in the position that I can:cheer: care for him, just nervous about the transition. If anyone has any advise please respond. Looking forward to talking with everyone.
9. My ex-husband just called me a few days ago and asked me if I would take Paco back after 7 yrs? I am now remarried and have no children at home other than a 1yr old pug(Bella). I am a little nervous about taking him back, Will he remember me? My ex tells me he has not had him out of his cage for a long time. Do you think I can re-train him. I am a flight attendant and do have the time to spend with him when I am home, my new husband has never had a bird before. Any input would sure be welcome.
