  1. Not to worry Julie, we all understand, that's why we hang around this Grey Forum!!!!
  2. You should know Elvenking that the two gentlemen answering this thread are both well-respected breeders who are always generous with their knowledge and expertise for which we are truly grateful!
  3. Oh this is a hot topic! When I got my grey she was clipped by her breeder. I had to wait a year for those feathers to grow and both Ana Grey and I were not happy campers! She did a lot of floor walking and my bare toes were constantly being pinched with her beak so I would pick her up! She would constantly flap her wings and jump off her cage and hanging perches trying to fly. It was heartbreaking. She is now totally flighted and she and I are both happy. She flies to the room I am in or back to her cage at her leisure. I can call her and she comes flying! It is a joyful thing to see you grey flying, totally independent and happy! Clipping is a personally choice, I hope you will try to let your grey remain flighted unless it becomes hazardous to your grey's health.
  4. Oh Dave now stop that, I'm thinking of getting an older zon that has been at the pet shop for a while. You are going to make me paranoid! Glad to hear from you Jay, I totally love this Amazon Room and it is because of the great posts and threads you provide. You are in need at home right now and I totally understand and will continue to pop into this room as I find it a very fun room because of you and Maggie!
  5. Thank you Dave, I knew you would be able to put this in the right prospective.
  6. Hi reggieroo, karma to you for researching about greys before becoming a grey parront. I can't help with the distinctions between CAGs and TAGs as I only have my sweet Tag Ana Grey. I will say that she is fearless and loves new things. Hopefully some of our other members can answer your questions. Welcome to the Grey Forum!
  7. Wow what a great party that had to be!!!!! Everyone had a great time and treats, I'm sure! Happy Hatch Day Alfie!!!
  8. Not to worry, I think Igor is finding her place in the family with ease. So relax and enjoy your new fid. You are a great parront!
  9. My Ana Grey is now 17 months old and she is now talking all the time. Finally other people have heard her say something and now she won't be quiet. I would just let Sampson go at his own pace. It will all come if that is what is to be. Enjoy your sweet grey and relax!
  10. Kathryn, Vree is hanging in there and it is your being calm and loving that is the best medicine right now. Be strong and hang in there, we are all here for you!
  11. Thanks Doc for clarifying this for us all!
  12. Spock, we are the ones to be thanking you so just get well so you can make us all laugh again!!! If you only knew how much I look forward to your posts and how much they brighten my day!!! So please get well soon.
  13. Oh Jay it is so good to hear that Spock is whistling and talking. I know that you and Maggie are giving Spock the best care possible. Hugs to all of you!
  14. Thanks for the update on Vree, Kathryn. Praying for Vree to be healing.
  15. Maybe you can meet close to the border (on your side)??? I hope something can be worked out. Praying for Rishi, Ram and Sabi.
  16. Oh I am so sorry to hear about your injuries Penny. Now do what the doctor says so we can have our great coach back quickly in full form! I have never been a runner but I love to watch the different marathons and track events on TV and just envy these great athlethes. I was lazy today, but tomorrow is another day!
  17. Hi Angie and Igor, welcome to the Grey Family! My Ana Grey loves to bang around her toys too! An example: http://www.greyforums.net/forums/the-grey-lounge/177119-ana-grey-in-attack-mode.html#177252 She does this with the bells in her cage in the early AM, I know it is just to wake me up!!!   Little stinker!
  18. Hi Christian, welcome to the forum. Congratulations to you and your wife for deciding to join the Grey Family, you will love being a grey parront!
  19. My grey was domestically breed and I have a sales receipt, dna paperwork and she is microchipped. The band she had on, was a rubber one (more for the breeder to be able to identify her babies for feeding, etc. purposes then anything else). I had Ana Grey's vet remove it. The area where the band was is still bare and naked looking so I'm glad it is no longer there. I know her breeder kept records of her hatchday and growth information. I believe removing a band is a personal preference. Ana Grey is so active and climbs all over everything and I wouldn't want a band to get caught on anything where she might harm herself trying to free her leg. Perhaps some of our members who are breeders will chime in here to give their expertise and knowledge in these matters. Great post Mandy, karma to you for posting it.
  20. Very cute!!! {Feel-good-0002006E}
