  1. Hi Sanzoni, so sorry that things are not going well with your baby grey. Something has caused your grey to be leery of you and your family. Can you tell us what your routine is with your grey? How you and your family interact with him? Perhaps with some deeper information, some help can be provided. Have you talked to your grey's breeder about the problems you are having as he/she would know your grey best. If your grey had an unpleasant experience at the vet, this can take time to get over. They are very intelligent. Being calm and understand is an important plus. What is your grey's favorite treat? That is what I would use to get him back in his cage. I also use my arm has a step up perch for my grey. It is much more sturdy than a hand/finger. Grey's do use their beaks to test if a perch is strong enough to hold them so if you pull your hand/arm away when your grey reaches out to test it with his beak, you might get bitten if your grey is trying to steady his perch. Patience is the key to earn our greys' trust.

  12. My Breeder and I still disagree on Ana Grey being flighted. She has told me at least twice that she is retired and if Ana Grey flies away there is no replacement. So we agree to disagree and I will continue to do my very best to see that Ana Grey remains safe in our home. For to me, she has always been irreplaceable. My sweet one of a kind!
  13. They sure love their veggies!!!! Great photos. I showed they to Ana Grey so she could see how she should be appreciating her greens!!!!!
  14. Hang in there Spock, all your forum family is willing you to be well and healthy.

  21. I feed my fids the things I want them to eat first thing in the morning namely their veggies. This is when I believe they are most hungry. I save their nuts mainly for out-of-the-cage time as they love these best. Their fruits are for just before nite, nite with some seeds and oats, if they get any. There are always pellets in their cages which Ana Grey loves to crunch into tiny, tiny pieces and my ekkie, Sully, loves to dip in his water! I weigh they every day or so and know their weight is consistent. My fids are both great eaters and poopers!!!
  22. I get my grey's pine nuts at the local Safeway. I save them for special treats she likes them so much. I love to hear the excitement in your post about your grey and see Issac's pictures. Thanks for sharing!
  23. Now here I post about how popular Blue-fronted amazons are and you post some great pictures of them!
