I have an older male eclectus and my 1½ year old grey loves to go in his cage and steal Sully's foods. I have to keep an eye on her all the times because she is fearless and Sully hates her and has a much larger beak!
That is a great picture of Issac climbing up the rope perch!
I'm sorry to hear that Pepper has accidentally gone outside. I pray she is safe and found quickly. Be strong Brittany and keep looking. Your baby is out there waiting for you to call her home.
My Ana Grey is a rather mellow grey and trusts me explicitly. She is 1½ years old and will still step up for me without problem. When I put her in her cage I just tell her why and say "I'll be back" and she is fine. When she wants out of her cage she says "Come here". Shoot she says "come here" when she wants me period in or out of her cage and I come running!! To be fair, if I say come here she also comes to me.
I starting bathing my grey very soon after she came to live with me at 4 months old. Once she was comfortable and trusted me. Just make sure that your grey doesn't get chilled and that he is totally dry before bed time. I usual bath my grey in the AM. She loves her bath and being misted. Just make sure it is a pleasant and enjoyable time for him and you should have no problems.
That's great news Ryan to know that you have someone you can depend on to bird sit for you in an emergency or just if you need a break! Rick will also be able to enjoy having a parrot around so this is a blessing for both of you! Congratulations!

Post edited by: luvparrots, at: 2010/02/18 20:49
Hi James. What is your baby grey's name? If you have any pictures, we would love to see them. Welcome to the Grey family. Can't wait to hear more about your new grey.
Well, Sully, my eclectus, has learned to shriek at 7:00 pm until I come in and turn off the bird room lights and shut the door so he can sleep in peace.
Well let's see. I didn't teach Ana Grey to toss her balls off the top of her cage for me to fetch. And to continue to do it until I get tired of picking them up. She thinks this is great fun. My dog always barks when someone is in the front or backyard so I always know when someone is going to knock or ring the doorbell. Ana Grey has learned on her own, to mimic Lily's bark perfectly so that I end up going to the door in anticipation of a knock or doorbell only to find out no one is there!!!!
Hi Suzzique, welcome back to the family! I took a peek at your hello thread and saw the photos you posted of Alex, your grey, and Martini, your senegal. Can't wait to see some new pictures and hear more about them.
If I could only have one bird, it would be my TAG. For my second bird, I would love an amazon. If I had more patience it would be a cockatoo. I would totally love a little parrotlet. If I could afford any parrot I wanted, it would be a Hyacinth Macaw.
