I love all of these ideas! Thanks! Just a couple questions? Are these the same rubber ducks that you buy for bathtub toys? Do you drill a hole through the ducks and put them on a chain or are they used as foot toys? Is this a preassembled toy that I can pick up somewhere?

Does anyone give their AG ice cream? Einstein absolutely goes crazy when we go to the local ice cream shop (to the point of trying to fly on a stranger's shoulder to get a lick of theirs!) I always give him a tiny taste, as long as it has no chocolate ingredients, but that is never enough for him. How much is too much?

Einstein's kingdom includes me, my husband, 3 kids, 1 german shepherd, 1 chihuahua, 1 sun conure, 1 cockatiel, and one cockatoo.

Einstein is a little over a year old, and until last week his one and only word was "Hello". He was constantly mumbling things, though. Suddenly this week, he can say "Hello, Einstein", and "Wanna step up?" as clear as a bell. I can't wait for next week!

What kinds of toys does your AG enjoy the most?

Have any of you ever used a Bird Sitter DVD for those times when you are at work? The one I am looking at has many different kinds of parrots making "natural bird sounds". Let me know what you think, or if you have any other video recommendations. Thanks!

My CAG seems to enjoy learning new tricks. So far he is able to wave, turn around and fluff his feathers on command(go crazy). Does anyone have any other ideas for some simple tricks and also how to teach those tricks. I don't have any props, such as roller skates or basketballs, so I am looking for simpler things. Thanks for sharing!

Hello to everyone! What a wonderful and informative website. I have been lurking for some time now and have learned so much from all of you. Anyway, Einstein and I live in Michigan, about an hour north of Detroit. Einstein is a 14 month old CAG, and one of the best things that ever came into my life. I enjoy him so much! It is a good thing he is a parrot or my husband and 3 children would be jealous! Can't wait to visit with you all more!

Hi, I have been lurking for quite awhile, and I now need some help from the experts. My CAG, Einstein, is 14 months old and his entire vocabulary consists of 2 words- Hello and Mama (which he learned from my 3 kids this summer while they were home from school!) He started saying Hello at about 10 months, but I feel that we are now at a standstill. How can I encourage him to learn more vocabulary? He gets tons of attention and is a very intelligent bird. He learned tricks such as waving, turn around and fluffing his feathers on command so easily! What am I doing wrong with the speaking? Thanks in advance!
