Well he seemed to have a good day. Him and my daughter and fun playing on the floor. We have baby teething rings and he loves throwing them off the couch or just bringing them to us. I am not sure how much food he has been eating..I dont have a scale. I know he is muching but he has stated digging his food out of his dishes. So we took him out for play before dinner and I stated handing him food and he started eating. Then he stated doing his baby begging cries but eat soak mix. After 10 mins he started eating out of the bowl...which was good. Now at 830 pm he is eating pellets off of playstand. omg He is a digger. I have 3 toys in his cage and think he is ready for more but my husband says no way. I know he is ready for more. He justs loves to play play play. My daughter has him step up like no tommorow for her. i am happy for that ...With my diablity I cant run to him to and I need her help. ----Sweet

Post edited by: SweetFX, at: 2008/07/31 04:44

YAY !! Our little came guy home today. I called her this morning and she let him come home this afternoon. We were an hour late picking him up due to unforseen busy monday at the store. We got him home at 5:30ish. When we took him out of his cat-carrier he was soooooo happy. Gave him some time in his new cage by himself and he drank right away and got some dinner in him. Then we had 30 mins of out playing on the couch. He just loves playing with a few little toys and some paypa. He is so happy. Now he is crashed perched on the rope by his water dish. I will post pics tommorow. Oh I forgot...we nammed him Rexxy after that little dinosaur from PBS show Calliou.

Post edited by: SweetFX, at: 2008/07/29 07:02

I went down there today to see our little guy and he was soooooo excited to see me. I got to the cage and he was climbing at the door, got it open and he grab my hand and was so happy. Then he start wing flapping to get to me ....wow those wings hurt some. He was just blimbing up and down and around my shoulders thru my hair and giggling and then just hanging out on my shoulders. I cruthched a few steps with him and he did very well and he even sat on the top for a bit. She said I could take him on Monday...maybe. I wanted to bring him on over a weekend to be with him. If I bring him on Monday ...I have to run my store m-f . She was showing me he needed his formula but he really did not want it. So I am confused. I think it is ready to come home. Thanks for listening. ---Sweet

Since I found this site to read up on our upcoming TAG. I posted in the welcome forum how I lost my Sun. Well...this is hard to type. A customer of our's found Tiki's body over the weekend. They had our flyer and called my Husband this morning and brought him to the shop this morning. It is nice of them to take the time to bring him home to us. I feel so bad. I have closure now but I feel horrible. My mistake took his life from him. I just never imagined how hard it would be to see him passed away. I keep crying to think about him...I know it will take some time to get over. I just feel crappy Our TAG is coming home in a week and I am happy for bringing home this new baby. But it is hard cuz his new home has a lot of tiki's toys he did not like.

Post edited by: SweetFX, at: 2008/07/24 05:38

The petstore owner wants to keep him for another week. In the beginning she said end of July...then she says next week...then says we need to wait longer...ahhhh. He is down to begging for formula in the morning, so she is not sure if she wants to let him go this week. I can feed him formula in the morning off a spoon for him to lick up. She said to come by on Fri just in case.

We got to see our little guy today and he was so excited. We cam walking in the room and he was rubbing the cage and makeing his little grunty noises. I opened his door and he just came running out. Took him a bint longer to step up to me but he was just so happy. I am holding him and he is just head rubbing all my hands and then some excited flapping...might I add those wings hurt. HaHAHa The store owner lady said he could ocme home this Thurs or Fir. She said he does not even want the the baby formual food anymore. I got to feed him some seed. He was just so happy even the ladies husband said he never seen him so happy. She said we are lucky that there were a few others that wanted to buy him but said he was spolen for . I have never been happier.

This seems like a stupid question but I cant find any information on this. Do Greys only sleep on a perch? Can a Grey sleep in a happy hut? My Sun Conure loved his hut to have a good night sleep. It made sense to me to sleep off of his feet. But what about Greys? Should I cover cage at night? I am getting mixed views on this for Greys. Our cage is pretty big and not sure if I want to cover. We covered our Sun and he really liked being cover. ----Sweet

Thanks All. I got the playstand off of Ebay. I was so happy cuz it seemed everywhere else online was so expensive. There is no where in NM to get a stand or even toys. In my heart I know he will love it. I am just amazed how well it is made. You should see the cage all set up. My daughter put every toy in. I told her we need to take a lot of them out or he will be scared to go in. I feel so bad I did not get to see him this week. I own/run my own small retail store. We were really busy which is a good thing. We will hopefully get to see him tomorrow morning before they leave. I hope they will give me exact date to take him home. I am hoping the 31st.

Post edited by: SweetFX, at: 2008/07/19 04:39

We bought our TAG for $1200. We are getting him from a bird store in NM who got him from FL. There are no breeders around here.

He is to come home in 2 weeks. I am so nervous and extied at the same time. Names I am thinking: Petey, Neeko, Lokie, Radar. We cant agree on a name. It takes us so long to name our pets. Usually about a month. But I know he needs a name sooner than that.

Of and here is a newer pic of our guy who is still nameless.

Post edited by: SweetFX, at: 2008/07/17 07:28

I wanted to share the playstand we just got delivered for our boy when he comes home. I got it for $160 buxks and is made really nicely made. I hope he likes it and not afraid of it since everything in our house will be new to him. I will be getting a boing to hang from it or put around it. I need to re-arrange some things by it. But I have a few more weeks. Haveing RSD slows you down to a halt. So I have to be prepared any way I can. Just had to share. --Sweet Post edited by: SweetFX, at: 2008/07/17 07:24

Post edited by: SweetFX, at: 2008/07/18 05:08

Thank you all for the Welcome to the site. I am excited and nervous all at the same time. The new cage is all ready for him. And we have a 4ft tree stand coming in any day. And it will be placed close to me on the couch. He is very sweet and loves to just look at you when you hold him. I hope he wont mind that I cant walk around with him. When he gets bigger he will have to be on my shoulder or in my lap. I lost my independence to the disease RSD that usually I have my husband do a lot for me but I pushed myself with Tiki (sun) and it got me moving. It was a big kissy and lovable sun. He went to everyone adn was always quiet..I was lucky to have him. I miss him everyday. My husband wants to get another Sun but I dont think I can. I just cant wait...

Post edited by: SweetFX, at: 2008/07/12 05:59

I would like to introduce my myself...Hello. This is a great site and have been reading alot here. We had a Sun Conure for a year and he got out and flew away and miss him so much. I have RSD in my foot and can not walk with out my crutches or wheelchair. It was a freak accident when my crutches fell and he flew out a door. We enjoyed having a friends bird over for a few days amd we went to a few of the pet stores to look at some birds. I just needed to be by and see some birds. We went to this went this one plece that is all birds. It is a pet bird store but of the 20 birds they have are to be re-homed or have been there for years and hate anyone but the owners of the store. But we all went went to see. My daughter went to go look at the cages and the toys. My husband tells me she is looking at some baby birds. She was so excited when she told me what they were I could barely understand her. But I did hear her say "they have the bird you always wanted." I look at her and say "you mean you are looking at a baby timmah gray?" "yep" the lady says. I ran over there and there in a box was a 4 week old grey looking up at me chirping and flaping and looking at me right in the eye. The lady tells me the bird is normally quiet. I ask if it is spoken for and she replied 'no." I ask the price and it is doable. Of course, we leave to "talk" about it. We head over to the next pet store and OMG they are going out of business. There was the perfect cage for a grey on sale. I feel like it is fate but torn at the same time. I miss by Tiki so much but I wanted they grey. We decided to get cage and go back and put my deposit down on the bird. We cant bring him home untill August which will be forever for me. He is about 10 weeks old now. I I really need some good things in my life right now and something to look forward to. I hope and prey every day I get my Tiki back. I will not give up. But I need to share my love of birds with a bird. I am not sure that my heart is ready for another sun so soon. We got the DNA sex yesterday and "Its a Boy" we have no name yet. My daughter wanted a girl and it still mad. I remind her sometimes you cant choose. Thanks all. Sweet ------------------------------ We try to see him once or twice a week. We have not spent too much one on one time yet, just 5 visits about 20 mins each. This pet store is 45 miles away and with gas prices going 2xs a week is going to be about it.He is a big chirper.

Post edited by: SweetFX, at: 2008/07/11 06:45
