  1. You count, Marie, well of course you do! We should grab a coffee to make it count even more! I am in Leyton.
  2. That is what i have gathered so far as well-from books, but wanted to know real life experiences. I am a quiet person if alone, so i am sure i wont disturb the bird much at night, but very much wanting to teach her/him many many things! So i guess we will get along quiet well!
  3. I figured it might not just be me being single and crazy for greys, but there might be others as well. So if the moderators don't mind, lets open this topic to the lonely hearted. I am 31 and live in London,UK. Don't have my bird yet, but will get one in January! If there is any male bird lover, who wants to share some coffee time talking about birds and everything else as well, please let me know of you! Kinga
  4. Basically i want to get my firs grey and my house mates are concerned about silent nights. I would like to find out, if greys are good at being silent after being covered at night and before uncovered in the morning.
  5. I am very exited! I will go home for xmas, but when i come back in Jan i want to take her/him home!
  6. Hello, Caroline! The kittens are fine-i think... They have been sterilized and growing to be big cats soon. I split with my man, and now live in a very friendly house share with massive rooms. The baby will be well cared for, that is for sure! So it is going to be a baby for me mainly! Wont be away for that long again...
  7. Thank you! I will check them out!
  8. Hello, I would like to get my first CAG in January. If you are a breeder or know one in the UK please let me know! Cheers Kinga
  9. I am on holiday in Portugal where my man is from, and we went to a fair. We where there last year as well, but i did not notice any grey´s back than. This time on the other hand we seen three pet stand, In two of them, they had grey´s. In one, the grey was in a single cage, not too small for a grey, but for comfort it could have been bigger. They said, the bird was two years old, and would have sold it to us cheap as he did not speak and was a bit wild as well. He was´not engaging or anything, but was shaking of fear. The fair is very loud and there where soooo many people! In the third stand I was outraged! They had a gorgeous two and a half month old baby Gray, with hand rearing food stuck to his chin-dried, His feathers haven't even been formed yet properly, and was hungry. He was trying to get us feed him, and was sooo eager to get our attention, that my heart was broken. But this did not caused me being outraged. Him being in a small cage with 3 other birds did. Two of them same size as the baby and the third just a tad smaller. There was no space for the baby to do anything, but cry for help, and although was still too small to talk at all, it was very vocal, and eager to get attention and care. Not screaming, but rather crying, and trying to be sweet. I had the feeling he longed for attention and of course food. I think i will get back there tomorrow and get some pictures of it. I was devastated to leave a pretty little -filthy and thorn- baby there, but i could not take him. Please if anybody lives in Viseo in Portugal or knows anyone here, who could get this sweet baby a good home, go to the fair, and rescue him!
  10. Ohhh.. sooo sweet of you guys! He is from a different planetary system, he has no empathy and just stubborn! But i am more stubborn, so i WILL get the bird! I will wait a bit though, as my 2 gangsters are REALLKY young! 9 -10 weeks and they are very mischievous, so they would hurt my pressious bird sooner or later, but in a few months, maybe... Plus i am not even sure how much longer can i live with the guy, so might just move the hell out, and have my sweet grey! Anyhow, i will post some piccies of my 2 gangsters here later tonight! Thanks again for all your support!
  11. This whole circus smells sooo scammy... I would rather pay more, and have a healthy happy people friendly baby from a respectabl ebreader, mate! Andersen is dead, dont believe in fairy tales any more! LOL
  12. Thank you, Judy, and all of you! Your support means a lot to me! No i will NEVER give up on my dreams... Used to, but not any more! Yes, he can be a BIT selfish, but so am i on the end of the day... no details! LOL I am sure i will get my grey eventually, and that will be a big celebration. But at least by that time i will be well educated about how to handle them, etc! So thank you all again!
  13. Thank you Casper! Yes, they are adorable, but i reallyreally wanted a grey, but he does not want to have any of it, although now i can tell him: -See, the bird would not have made this or that... At the moment he is fearing for hios 47 inch tv, as one of the kittens realised this morning, that if he jumps on the mouse (PC mouse that is) the little arrow would move on the screen, so she figurted, if she jumps first on the plastic mouse, and then right In-to the tv, she might catch the little moving arrow... Bless her! But we are both at work now, and he is going to be in stress all day of his tv, and claw marks... The grey would be safe in a cage while we are away... I will talk him into a bird though... Kitten piccies to follow tonight!
  14. All my dreams of owning a grey just flew out of the window! At least for a while! I took my man Saturday to a pet store, to show him a grey, and we talked to the people in the store, he was even making friends with a huge cocatoo, but he ended up buying two kittens. So now i am proud mummy to 2 9 weeks old fluff balls, and untill they grow up a bit i dodnt want to risk a bird. Plus we are running out of space as well in the flat... I am soooo devastated! I love the kittens, they are adorable, and very playfull, but they are not my dream birdie.... Please feel with me! Kinga
  15. Can i please have a few PM's with regards to a breeder here in the UK? I live in London, and can drive a bit further away, but would preferre someone who i can get to go to and bond with my baby before we take him/her home. Cheers Kinga
  16. Great idea. It could save you guys a lot of grief, if she gets away by accident! Great job!
  17. Soooo Sweeeet! Greta pics, Siobhan! He is adorable! Could post some more to be honest! LOL
  18. Thank you again for all the support! I am working on to get my own place, but if any of you know of a parrot friendly shared accomodation in or araund London, please let me know! LOL
  19. Sandra, There is quiet a conversation about my man not wanting my sweet baby grey on Psoriasis and greys... Basically he has that illnes, but as i found out, birsd are not making it wors... So from there we started the discussion... go and read about it there if you are interested in my story! Thank you and sorry for keeping up this topic... Kinga
  20. Thank you all again for all your support, and continuous posts, i really do appreciate it, i just wish, that i would have met a bird fan beforehand... lol Anyhow, Betty, you are not encouraging anything, that would not be in process already anyhow... LOL I really made up my mind of what i want, i know it will be good for my wellbeing, emotionally and mentally as well. If he does not agree with it before the end of the year, well, i will have to choose the bird over him eventually. The relationship is rocky anyhow, but i do have my reasons to stay a bit longer. He is not a bastard, but i am sure, that he is from a different planetary sytem... LOL Anyhow, Thank you all again! I am very glad i joined this forum, even though i do not have a grey yet, becouse of all the caring people here, and all the support i have not got in ages... London is a very snob town... Nobody really cares here. I almost gave up hope to see good people! Thank you! Kinga
  21. The thing is, if i cannot have my way, i take the Highway, i just cant afford both... The bird and a new flat, so i have to hold out either untill he agrees, or till i have enough in my pocet to get all i want... LOL I know i sound mean, but if we cannot agree on a bird, how will we agree on children later on?????
  22. I would, Judy, But we are just a couple, no fiancee or marriage, and the flat where we live is his... Dont really want to fly out the window with my bird.... I will get what i want on the end.... It just takes time and effort!
  23. Thank you very much... I am trying all the way... I am showing him forums, and videos and all the goodies... I almost moved out already, i am trying everything i can think of to make him understand how i feel, especially, that he promised me while we lived in the old hous, that after we move to the new one, i can have one, and kept telling me even here, that i can get one after we get the sofas, but now that the time is close, and i was about to choose a bird, he does not want to hear about it at all... Which is i think very mean of him.... Plus i am soooooo obsessed by now, its an everyday fight topic; me and my grey.....
  24. Fantastic posts, all of you, you all made me feel even wors... I cannot convice my man, that i mentally need a grey! Thank you for sharing this love with all of us! Kinga
