Hi Everyone just thought I would let you know how Alfie is getting on. He is saying hello albeit in a voice we have not heard before. We think it may be a mix of mine and my wife's voice as we spend equal amounts of time with him. He is one year old tomorrow according to his hatch certificate. We love him loads and would not be parted from him. He is a bundle of fun:woohoo: and is always out and about exploring his surroundings. He can also be a bit of a  but we love him more for it;) Steve

Fantastic hope you are enjoying your life together Steve:woohoo:

Hi everyone, Alfie's claws are really sharp,:pinch: the various perches he has are not filing them down enough. Can I file the sharp tip or is this something that requires the vet. When I had Alfie chipped I recall the vet saying we could do it but not to file to much. Steve:)

Hi everyone Happy New Year to you all;) Alfie has said hello once and this has not been repeated. He does whistle though Oh how he whistles:pinch: Can't wait for him to start talking in context though. Steve

Hi Caroline and everyone. The Caribbean was fantastic and very hot. The ship was great and we met some new friends from the States. Santa was on our ship and I have posted a video on You Tube to prove it. He was on vacation prior to the big day and he entered the Belly Flop contest follow this link (he is the final contestant) http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=35XLKs12_p0 I didn't see the parrot show in St Thomas had to spend the day at Magens BayB) We are booked for next year (God willing) and are looking forward to another great time. George was £250 at around 2 years old and never hand tame although a brilliant vocalist and Alfie was £680 silly tame and weaned. Still miss George:( despite having Alfie:woohoo: you cannot put a price on this kind of relationship Steve

He is amazing, in to everything and well and truly part of the family. He eats most things and wil try anything. He is more attached to Kim than me but I think that's because she tends to feed him more often. My sons love him to bits and make a fuss of him all the time. I think he is a bit spoilt to be honest but never mind. Steve

Hi All, I have noticed a sign in my area of the uk (ESSEX) which is asking if anyone has seen an African Grey called Captain. He was lost in of all places, Grays Essex and the owners are understandably very upset. They are offering a reward for his safe return. I know it's a long shot but should anyone in the UK around this area see or hear anything could you post. Thanks Steve

Thanks for that, a great help SteveB)

Hi everyone, Alfie is eating everything in his path he has his own mix (healthy veg fruit pulses some sunflower seed as treats) plus he is still being weaned and he wants our food as well, I mean everything! Apart from the foods well publicised not to give him such as avocado chocolate apple seeds:dry: Are there others I should not feed him. Steve:)

Post edited by: stclerk, at: 2008/09/09 14:15

Hi everyone, Alfie had the chip inserted last night with no problems whatsoever. The Vet asked that he be kept in his travel cage for a couple of hours following the procedure as wing flapping can cause the chip to fall out, other than that all is fine and he is now playing as usual. Steve
