no she is staying over night ?? thats why i'm unsure but i haven't got anyone else to have him and i'm under pressure as my mum , mother in law etc all want to go away for xmas :blink:
i go away with the family and leave my bird with a wonderful woman that usually takes dogs in as home boarders. i have asked her if she will have him again over xmas and she has said that even though she aint taking dogs in this year at xmas she will have him no prob ....
only thing is she says that she is going to her sisters for dinner and will prob stay there so he will be alone . she will be back pretty sharpish as she has her own dogs to come home to.
what does everyone think ?? she's not daft and i have also got him into a routine lately of going to bed around 7pm and he now shouts to have his food changed and be covered up .

Post edited by: Gus, at: 2008/09/23 00:53
cor i must have a unique boy i just leave him out most of the time and he just stays on his cage doing his own thing , have found that he loves to be in the glass porch so he stays in his cage with windows open at mo then late afternoon i have shut windows and just left him out , i don't let him on chairs ever so he doesn't seem to bother just happy wih his own space
course i'm joking yes def his hormones he doesn't know if he wants to be in or out of his cage at the moment . the only thing thats stops him is if i put on 'spirit of the rainforest' cd terry oldfield he loves the jungle whistle thing goin on .. trouble is i can't bear to hear that one more time either , if anyone can recommend a similar one i would be grateful ...
does anyone else find that their parrot gets a bit mad at certain times of the year , i think it's as the swallows are nesting around the eves ??? mine has screeched all day and doesn't seem to know what he wants . i don't know what he wants either i can only tell you what he's going to get if he don't give it a rest lol only joking xx
got one of them but he just screams at it , will put in tomorrow and let him get used to it thanks . sorry not been around having a rough tim , o/h bro got cancer had tongue removed etc ,no time to browse on here x
hi can anyone reccommend something to keep parrots claws down , he can't be handled and he doesn't like cuttlefish etc in his cage growls at them , needs to be something i can get in uk ?? thanks
hey so far so good .....the parrot gets to live another weekend :laugh: he sittin on perch with boyf (boyf not on perch) eating a new potato ,off to join them with a glass of wine . hope everyone has a good weekend ....
don't worry rhonda he aint loose in the kitchen , it's a bit like the naughty step , i tell him to think about what he's done and when he feels ready to join us he can {Feel-good-000200BB}
mmm i put Gus in the kitchen ... do i get a thumbs down lol , he's so spoilt it's untrue he has 3 cages and a wooden perch . he is a bird property developer :woohoo:
i have come up with a 'sort of' solution . when o/h is home i have left him in his cage , then as soon as o/h gets up he lets him out . Then i put him back again later whilst o/h out , again he lets him out when he comes home ... seems to be working ish ... he's startin to be pleasesed to see boyfriend rather than seeing him as oppostion for my attention . will keep you posted
no he's only done this since o/h went away that is when it started , i just need to find someone that can advise on parrot behaviour we will work it out somehow , if we don't end up killin each other 1st lol
