1. LOL. I am getting two babies out-of-nest from Kris in two weeks. She is a great breeder and definitely a friend of mine. Kris and I share pretty much the same philosophies when it comes to raising babies!
2. I think it would give you a heart attack if I said he wasn't coming and I sure don't want to be responsible for that!!
3. I could very easily solve this problem for you guys!
4. Melanie, the new owner, says, "I think we are going to call him Chaka, pronounced "Shaka" It means intelligent in African."
5. I am just in shock that Ronda didn't tell you all that Casper SAT ON THE PERCH for the first time yesterday all by himself! Shame on you Ronda!

Post edited by: TheFeatherHut, at: 2008/03/03 13:17
6. And here's a picture of the little bugger doing his penguin impression. :silly: He is 5 weeks old today.

Post edited by: TheFeatherHut, at: 2008/03/02 23:53
7. Pretty soon I won't have to call it little NoName anymore! Should my Congos ever decide they like each other enough to have babies, Ronda, I'll be sure and put your name on one of them. Whose bird will IT be? Here is a picture of the "happy" couple. Duke and Dutchess
8. I'm happy to say, that the I am waiting on a deposit for the little TAG. I also told the prospective owner to definitely join the forum, since this will be her first Grey. I thought if anyone could help a first time owner, we all could!
9. Welcome Arkbart! I have a B&G also, amoung others.
10. Welcome Ginger and Ozzy. I have only been a member here for a short while, but I've found everyone VERY nice and willing to answer any questions you have, as well as listen to any accomplishments you and your Grey make. If there's any way I can help you with anything, just let me know!
11. You have my number - you can always call me! :silly:
12. I don't stay at home by choice. I have acute anxiety disorder. But since I am pretty much homebound and I love to do it, it is the perfect thing for me (and my babies)!
13. Please call me Janice. If could work outside the home, that's what I'd do, unless, of course, I opened my own bird store!:cheer:
14. danmcq, I'm not the breeder Ronda got Sweetheart from. I'm the one she is getting the baby Goffin from. LOL! No offense to the other breeder, but I do not want to be confused with her.
15. I have done so many tests that I can now cut off just enough to squeeze out enough to do the test and then the toenail stops bleeding by itself. It's harder to do on the greys because their toenails are black and you can't actually see the "quick". When trimming nails, I use a dremmel. Just one little touch and it takes the points off without cutting them too short. (Sorry, Ronda, I wasn't able to make it back on last night - had a daughter to pick up at cheerleading and then had to watch American Idol!, then babies to feed.....) I want your job Berna! Email me privately, rational, if you would like more info on the baby timneh.
16. I use DNA Vet Center and it costs me $19 to DNA test a bird. If I send in 5 or more samples at a time, it is only $17. A lot of breeders use Avian Biotech and their cost is about the same. It just takes a small drop of blood from a toenail like judy said. My vet charges $30 to do the same test. Both places also do the feather testing and it is only a couple of dollars more.
17. Sorry, but Milford is in Ohio, near Cincinnati. You are still more than welcome to stop by, though!
18. {Feel-good-00020114}Hello All! My name is Janice and I live in Milford, Ohio, with my husband Wade of 4 years, who is owned by a B&G named Corona, my son Matthew, 13, who is owned by a cinnamon GC named Wednesday, and my daughter Jennifer, 12, who is owned by a cockatiel named Oreo. I am owned by a 8 month old Timneh named Buster. Since I have anxiety disorder and don't leave home very much, breeding has been a real life saver for me. I have been breeding off and on for about 25 years. I am currently mama to a breeding pair of Congos, two breeding pairs of Goffin 'Toos, a future breeding pair of Timnehs (they are 10 months old, so it will be a while), and will be getting a breeding pair of Bare Eyed 'Toos in the next couple of weeks. I also have several smaller breeding pairs, but am trying to find them good homes, so I can concentrate on the Greys and Toos. Thank you for letting me join the forum and I hope to get to know a lot of you real soon! PS. Thanks Ronda!
