  1. And one more...cuz one picture doesn't do these birds justice
  2. Let me try the picture attachment again
  3. Ok, Here is some pics of the new flock member!! LisaM, no, I haven't named him/her yet. I think I'll be picking one out for each as I will get the DNA testing done (would be nice to know). My nephew had a good name I thought that could be used if it was a male, Smokie "...because it looks like his tail is the fire and then his body is the smoke." Yes, I am very excited. And I managed to talk them down in price (see my question last week in topic "price")(I always know how to get people to come down in prices). The Raisers said I could come visit during these six weeks and will send me online updates w/ pictures as to how the Grey is doing. Also, they said they can get me a great deal on a cage as their daughter works at a pet shop so I've picked a nice one too. It measures out 24"x36" (not sure about the height anymore, but was fairly tall).
  4. Hi Everyone, I am excited so I just had to share the news with you. I put a deposit on a CAG today. He's just a baby yet (9 weeks old) so I won't be getting him until early April. That gives me about 6 short weeks to learn even more about him (picked up an additional two books today to go with my collection) and get ready for him. I did take pictures but it's late and I'm tired so I will post the pics on here tomorrow. I just had to share.:woohoo: And thanks for all the wonderful tips on this site. I've been reading it non-stop for the past couple of weeks. Any tips on things I should do to prepare for him?
  5. Congrats LMG. How many does that make now, at least four, right?
  6. Lyric, I have had Tiels in the past, but currently don't have any birds. I do have a beautiful saltwater fish tank, but I consider that more of a hobby then a pet. I've tried, but never been able to pet one of the fish yet  .
  7. Congrats on getting Rocco.B)
  8. Thanks for the Welcome everyone. And great read on that Parrot Bill of Rights. Looking forward to getting to know everyone.
  9. Hi FairY, Thanks for the welcome. I think this site will help me decide which CAG is right for me and through my "weaning" period of owning a Grey:P .

Hi Abdullah, Yes, I would be very interested. Is this breeder on the island, how old is the Grey? Is this the same breeder as the one from whom you bought and if so, is your Grey well raised?

    Price

Hi. I am looking at buying a CAG and I have talked to a breeder last weekend but I am not sure if it is the right place. I live in the lower mainland area of BC, Canada and this breeder is ask $1,600 which sounds awefully high compared to what has been said in this topic. I am also concerned as he said this was his first time hand raising CAGs (has done other birds in the past, i.e. cockateils) and he says he is raising 12 of them at this time (sounds like an huge clutch to me as it seems to me normally they are raising in groups of four or less). Could anyone please tell me what you think about this deal and if there is anyone from this area (BC Canada) on this site, could you perhaps let me know of a good place to adopt a CAG?
  12. Hi Everyone, I am new to the forum. I have been considering getting a CAG for sometime now and starting to inquire how to go about adopting one myself. I have read a couple of books, many web-sites, and even talked to a breeder this weekend (not sure if he is the one though). Somewhere in all of this information I bumpped into this web-site and found it very useful. So I decided I would sign up in hopes of being able to ask questions and have an outlet into this world of Greys.
